Encouragement From Irish Police Force

In Ireland every time we have a public activity we always let the police know the details although they have told us by law we are allowed to appeal wherever we want as long as we are not causing an obstruction to the public. This has given us a great opportunity to clarify the truth to the Irish police and the government.

When the Chinese Premier was in Ireland, there was a dinner arranged for the 170 strong Chinese delegation and the Irish government. Falun Gong practitioners were the only group who were appealing. The police and the practitioners got on harmoniously, so much so that when a practitioner met the Chief who was in charge that day, SIX MONTHS later, he immediately recognized the practitioner and went out of his way to go over to the practitioner and commend him and his fellow practitioners for their excellent behaviour on that day. He said if more people were like us his job would be easier. I thought if more people practiced truth-compassion-forbearance he would have to change jobs.

More recently when we had a press conference outside the Chinese embassy over 3 days, although the police came on the first day, they didn’t see any reason to return when they saw the nature of our peaceful appeal. Their absence suggests they no longer believe the lies and propaganda that the Chinese Embassy try to tell them. This should also shake the confidence of the embassy officials on propagating such propaganda and make them think twice about their actions.
