Public Security Bureau Uses Display Boards Defaming Falun Gong in Order to Arrest Practitioners

Changchun City, Jilin Province

On February 5, 2002, Changchun City Public Security Bureau made three display boards defaming Teacher Li Hongzhi and Dafa. They hung them on the side of a building on Renmin Road near the City Public Security Bureau. They arrested Falun Dafa practitioners by waiting around the area and looking for anyone who came up to tear down the boards. The bureau had ordered all police to wear plainclothes and take three shifts daily to arrest practitioners. All police complained about the order saying they didn’t want to do bad deeds around the time of the Spring Festival. The organizers were forced to recruit ten or so male and female students from Changchun City Police School to do the job. On February 6, 2002, the display boards were taken down.

On January 25, 2002, fourteen practitioners were kidnapped in the Culture Recreation Centre of Jilin Province. This arrest was directed by the Public Security Department of Jilin Province, and performed by the Changchun City Public Security Bureau.
