On May 10th, local media in Furth im Wald, a small city in Bavaria, reported a photographic exhibition depicting the phenomenon of Falun Gong.

Koetzting Daily published a story entitled "Pictures make people think about the dark side of China. Falun Gong photo exhibition at municipal hall touches the people; Go see it." The report says that eighty pictures of Falun Gong practitioners around the world were shown in the old municipal hall in Furth im Wald. The pictures showed the enduring spirit of Falun Gong and the efforts by Falun Gong practitioners across the whole world to protect human rights in China. "We want to let people see this photo exhibition and hope that through these pictures people will understand the tragedy taking place in China now," said Ms. Teng, a member of Falun Gong human rights work group, at the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition.

Mayor Johannes Mueller mentioned in his speech that Falun Gong is an ancient Chinese cultivation way of body, mind, and spirit and guides cultivation toward truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance through five sets of simple and easy exercises that have apparent effect at the same time. However, Falun Gong was forbidden by the Communist Party of China in 1999. The Mayor also Mueller said. "This peaceful cultivation has pinned the big hat of superstition on China. Falun Gong practitioners were suppressed from then on and suffered cruel torture. Mr. Mayor wished a lot of people could see the universal Dafa and the truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance at the photo exhibition.

Mr. Roemer from an the international human rights association mentioned that Falun Gong was well received shortly after it was introduced into the world in 1992. Within seven years there were 100 million people who practised Falun Gong. Obviously this many people made the Chinese Communist Party fearful and then banned Falun Gong in 1999. From then on, Falun Gong practitioners were persecuted and tortured. Not long ago the news of Falun Gong practitioners' organs being removed for sale at secret concentration camps shocked the world. Mr. Romer stressed, that China is the number one country of torture.

Not long ago, Falun Gong practitioners risked their lives to successfully insert national TV broadcasts to reveal the lies of the CCP and let people see its dark side. The goal of Falun Gong and the international human rights organisation is to let more people know about the persecution of human rights and urge people in the whole world to take action. Everybody should contribute one's own strength to prevent inhumane persecution.

Then, Ms. Teng and members of Falun Gong human rights work group acted as guides to those attending the photo exhibition.

The above-mentioned report was also published in the free weekly Chamland Aktuell on May 17th.

Ms. Teng, a representative of Falun Gong human rights work group mentioned that human rights were trampled on in China at present. Since President Jiang Zemin forbade and tried to eliminate Falun Gong out of envy and fear in 1999, Falun Gong practitioners have been tormented and maltreated. So far already 2800 practitioners have been persecuted to death and 38,000 practitioners were tortured. The pictures not only presented the peaceful exercises but also the cruel torture. This photo exhibition hopes to draw the attention of people to this cruel fact. The petition by Falun Gong practitioners collected a large number of signatures and support. Even Falun Gong practitioners in China successfully revealed the lies of the CCP through the media and let people know the true situation.

What is Falun Gong?

Falun Gong is a traditional Chinese practice of body and mind, similar to the qigong that everybody knows. Like a lot of exercises in Asia, Falun Gong tries to reach a balance of body and mind as well as the harmonious characteristics of nature and the universe with movements and meditation. Falun Gong has five sets of exercises with apparent good effects. While improving health, Falun Gong has higher goals, that is, the elevation of the mental realm. Falun Gong includes giving up the unhealthy characteristics, such as envy, desire, selfishness and other negative habits. Falun Gong requires the practice of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance in daily life. Making truthfulness, compassion and forbearance as the principle of life can make people obtain a deeper understanding of the connection between life, nature and the universe.

In addition, before the Falun Gong photo exhibition began, Cham Daily, in order to promote the exhibition, published a photo of Falun Gong practitioners in Taiwan forming Chinese characters (above).
