The Homeowner Who Refused to Sell His Conscience

On around May 1st, 2006, two suspicious people came to a homeowner whom often rented a room to a Falun Dafa practitioner called Wang Shusen. This was in the fourth team of Hongyuan Village in the Changyi District, Jilin City, China.

The owner asked, "Who are you?"

The two men replied, "We are construction workers and are working nearby on a road. We want to rent a house to live in."

The owner said, "But your clothes don't look like that of construction workers."

Then the two men didn't hide their purpose and said, "Actually, we have come to monitor Wang Shusen, who lives nearby."

The owner asked, "Wang and his family are very good people. Why should you monitor them?"

One stranger replied, "To prevent them from creating disturbances."

"Wang Shusen's son has already been persecuted to death, how could they 'make trouble?'" The homeowner said. "Leave. I will not rent my house to you no matter how much money you want to pay."

There are some people who have betrayed their consciences by reporting practitioners and helping the authorities to persecute those who practise Falun Dafa. More and more people, however, have understood the truth and are willing to stand up to speak for Falun Dafa practitioners, even so far as preventing the police from persecuting them. It is the truth that evil will be "rewarded" with evil and that good will be rewarded with good. Everyone today is choosing his or her future.

Background Introduction

Wang Shusen's son, Wang Jianguo, and his daughter-in-law, Zhao Qiumei, are Falun Dafa practitioners. Both were illegally arrested by Tan Xinqiang and another police officer from Nanjing Police Station in the Chuanying District. After only forty days, Mr. Wang Jianguo, who was only thirty years old, was persecuted to death. Ms. Zhao Qiumei is still being persecuted in the Fifth Team in Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Changchun.
