Central News Agency reported on July 29th, 2006 that more than five thousand Falun Gong practitioners held a sit-in hunger strike in Taichung beginning at 3:00 p.m. to protest the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) atrocities of live organ removal. There were many banners on site protesting the CCP atrocities. The practitioners hope through this activity that more people will become aware of the CCP's crimes and killing, safeguard freedom of belief and call on the CCP to stop the killing.

Five thousand practitioners gathered and held the hunger strike. Guests who attended the event included Chang Ching-his, director of the Falun Dafa Association of Taiwan, Ku Chin-nan, presiding judge of Taichung Division Court, Tseng Chao-jung, member of Taichung City Council, and Wang Ching-ya, representative youth scholar and a graduate student of Chiaotung University.

In the event, the Canadian investigation team's "Report into Allegations of Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China" was read. Videos of witnesses testifying about the CCP live organ removal and exposing the facts of the persecution were shown. A reenactment and dancing were performed to protest the CCP.

The host organisation said that the sitting in protest continued until 9:30 p.m. There was a candlelight vigil and candlelight wall in the evening. They hoped via the event to tell every government, international organisation, media, and people should not keep silent to the CCP atrocities.
