In 2000, Dafa practitioner Mr. Deng Zongsu was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labour. On October 7, 2001, authorities in Chengdu City's Steel Factory escorted Mr. Deng back home after his one-year detention term was up. But they dispatched people to monitor Mr. Deng around the clock. On October 20, 2001, Mr. Deng planned to travel to Yunnan Province. On the same day, though, policemen tricked Mr. Deng to get off the train when he was just about to board. They claimed Mr. Deng took contraband with him at Chengdu City's South Railway Station. After they illegally body-searched Mr. Deng, they detained him for one night, although no evidence was found. On the second day he was escorted back by personnel from the Tuanjie Police Department and was detained for one month. Later, he was unexpectedly sentenced to three years of forced labour. The real reason was because Mr. Deng firmly believes in Dafa. The authorities were afraid of his appealing in Beijing. That's why the authorities in Chengdu City's Steel Factory bribed and conspired with policemen in the Tuanjie Police Department to illegally sentence Mr. Deng to three years of forced labour.

Practitioner Mr. Meng Xiao had been illegally sentenced to two years of forced labour because of his determination to Dafa. On November 16, 2001 his detention term was up. Because Mr. Meng went to his work unit to visit his colleagues and clarify the truth to them, authorities in Chengdu City's Steel Factory conspired with policemen from the Tuanjie Police Department to detain Mr. Meng for 15 days. During the detention term, authorities forced Mr. Meng to turn in his private housing property and then put him into criminal detention. On November 27 he was escorted back to his hometown in Xichong, and the authorities attempted to ask the local government people to detain Mr. Meng, but they failed. On the second day, Mr. Meng was taken back to the factory and detained in "security confinement." On January 31, 2002, he went to talk with Miao Changjiang, the factory director, about his personal freedom. However, officials in the security section of the factory, who were in charge of persecution, framed him and kidnapped him into a detention centre. During the time he was detained in the factory, authorities in Chengdu City's Steel Factory again went to negotiate with his hometown government and tried their best to put Mr. Meng into imprisonment, which hurt Mr. Meng's parents again and again at his hometown.
