Any Thought That Is Not Upright Will Be Transformed into False Images or Occurrences

Master said in Zhuan Falun,

"Everything within the field of your dimension is dictated by the thoughts in your brain. That is, if you calmly see things with the Celestial Eye and without using your mind, what you observe is true. If you start to think a little, what you see will be false. This is called demonic interference from one’s own mind, or 'transformation follows mind-intent'." (Zhuan Falun, 2000 Translation)

I had some understanding about this from experience sharing with fellow practitioners, which I have written down to share with all of you.

The Fa (Law/Principles) that Master taught is all-encompassing and all-perfect. I enlightened to the understanding that everything that we come across in cultivation will be transformed by our mind intent if we pursue things with an incorrect mind. The following is an example of this, from my experience: before the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, when we had a practice site for group Fa study and practice, female and male practitioners sat side by side. A female practitioner would often tell me during those days which practitioner liked whom, that a subtle relationship had developed between male practitioner A and a female practitioner, etc. She wasn't diligent in Fa study or exercising, and instead focused her concentration on practitioners' looks, dress, and facial expressions. A few months later she told me that practitioner A liked her but nothing had yet happened between them. Her actions affected the group Fa study negatively, as she always used a human mind to arrive at conclusions with fellow practitioners. As a witness, I enlightened that these things were all false images and occurrences transformed by incorrect mind-intent. Even if practitioner A had really liked her, it was caused by her own pursuit. When someone always thinks about these things, their strong attachments will be transformed into many false occurrences and images, which will then deceive and mislead him.

I enlightened to the understanding that the dimensional space around a cultivator changes with his mind-set. If our conduct is upright, it will have a positive influence on everything around us. False occurrences and images will not be allowed to manifest if we do not have that particular attachment, or if the field that is not upright isn't there. When we look at others with sexual attraction and desire, we have already created karma due to these attachments.

Master said that "...matter and mind are one thing" (Zhuan Falun, 2000 Translation)

A thought of this kind will create negative matter in other dimensions. This matter also has a spirit. If we often have such thoughts, a field that is not upright will form in other dimensions, and it will manifest in this human world as the superficial phenomena that we see. In fact, this is a result that one asked for due to his mind not being upright, and a transformation derived from his incorrect mind-intent.

I've had some deep thoughts about this. Once, I carelessly indulged the thought that it would be great if a certain male and female practitioner could have a family together (as they were elderly, unmarried people). With this incorrect thought, many false manifestations came into being. Every day when I was at the practice site, I felt that the male practitioner liked the female practitioner. The more I observed, the more it seemed to be so. Later, I developed a negative opinion about the male practitioner. I thought that he was not upright due to his sexual attraction and desire. This situation continued for about two months. One day I suddenly realized that I should not have looked at fellow practitioners with such a strong attachment, and weren't these images caused by my own mind that had gone awry? As soon as I realized this, I let go of the attachment, and the false images all disintegrated. Nothing was there, and in fact nothing had really happened.

Some practitioners in our area often chatted back and forth that a male and a female practitioner had a sexual attraction for each other, and that two other practitioners were having an improper relationship. Actually, the most important thing is whether our own heart is upright, and whether we look inward in cultivation no matter what others have done.

As Master said,

"...Your accomplishments reflect mighty virtue gained through sound Fa study and the solidifying of righteous thoughts, and your shortcomings tell of the things that you need to work on along your cultivation path. Whatever you experience during your cultivation--whether good or bad--is good, for it comes about only because you are cultivating. A cultivator cannot achieve Consummation when laden with human thoughts, laden with karmic debts, or laden with attachments."("To the Chicago Fa Conference", 2006)

I enlightened through Fa study that the reason I heard and saw these things was because I had an attachment to let go of. I want to kindly remind fellow practitioners that even though we think it might be for our fellow practitioners' own good, we should not be attached to this, and we should never forget that everything that we come across in cultivation is for ourselves to upgrade. If we don't run into these things, our deeply-hidden attachments may never be exposed. Anything that we encounter in our cultivation is meant for us to get rid of certain attachments.
