A Falun Gong human rights working group in Germany sent an open letter to the German Government, media and citizens, appealing for attention to China’s human rights conditions on the eve of Wen Jiabao’s visit to Germany, from September 13th - 15th.
The letter mentions Gao Zhisheng, a prominent Chinese lawyer and active human rights campaigner who has been illegally detained by the Chinese Communist Party since August 15th, 2006. He openly wrote letters to the CCP leaders disclosing the situation of innocent Falun Gong practitioners being cruelly persecuted; in the meantime, he was also on the run appealing for some other groups. Gao himself is a Christian. On December 14th 2005, he publicly announced his withdrawal from the CCP. During the following days, he and his family members have been strictly monitored by great number of the CCP secret agents. During this period of time, secret agents were attempting to murder him but failed. On August the 22nd 2006, the International Organisation of Plenary Indulgence called on an activity of urgently rescuing the lawyer, Gao Zhisheng.
In the open letter, the words that Gao used to describe the CCP are quoted: “This is the most unprincipled and rascal organisation. The inhuman organisation is bound to use lunatic means when its end is coming soon. We must be prepared to shed the last drop of our blood and be ready to give our lives to fight with it to the end.”
In the letter, Falun Gong practitioners also mention that the background of “The incident of Yuan Sheng, a Pilot” is the spread of the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party” and the great tide of withdrawals from the CCP. Yuan Sheng, a crew commander and pilot from Eastern Airlines of China, is a Falun Gong practitioner. Just because of his spreading the news about the “Nine Commentaries” and the withdrawals from the CCP, Chinese police are intending to arrest him. He was forced to make a difficult decision of seeking asylum in the United States. Therefore, he had to leave both his wife and only twelve year old daughter.
The Vice-president of European Parliament, Edward McMillan-Scott wrote an open letter to Gao Zhisheng on July 4th 2006 saying: “The Chinese Government is, as always, inhuman, stubbornly biased and doing everything at will.” The sentence is quoted in the letter. In March of 2006, the atrocities of the CCP having removed organs from live Falun Gong practitioners was exposed: Since 2000, the CCP has been removing organs from live Falun Gong practitioners in labour camps, prisons, hospitals and military institutions. Such news shocked McMillan-Scott and made him meet two Falun Gong practitioners in China. He personally investigated the incident. Cao Dong, one of the Falun Gong practitioners has even seen the body of a friend of his, a Falun Gong practitioner: There were holes in the body and organs had been removed. After meeting Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott, Cao Dong disappeared on the same day. Nobody knows his whereabouts to this day.
On the morning of July 6th, ex-Canadian Cabinet Minister David Kilgour and Human Rights lawyer David Matas held a press conference in Ottawa releasing their investigative report into the allegations of “Organ harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners in China”. They concluded that the allegations are true. The report points out that from 2001 to 2005, it is estimated that the source of 41,500 transplants is unexplained.” “This is the evil that has never existed before, beyond the memory of mankind", said David Kilgour at a press conference in Berlin on July 14th, 2006.
The open letter points out that n the past 57 years since the CCP was in power, the tribulations it has forced on Chinese people are too numerous to record. 80,000,000 people have died unnaturally. Up to present, without going through any legal procedures, even innumerable Falun Gong practitioners have been locked up in labour camps, prisons, hospitals and military institutions where their organs have been removed for huge profits while they are still alive. uan Sheng is forced to leave his hometown, no one knows where Cao Dong is, and Gao Zhisheng (a non-practitioner) is arrested.
The open letter mentions the recent situation of three Falun Gong practitioners who are related to Germany: On March 7th, 2005, after their application for asylum was refused, Jiang Renzheng, a Falun Gong practitioner, and his wife, a Falun Gong practitioner, together with their two children, were deported to China. Since then, Jiang Renzheng has been arrested and sentenced to three years in a labour camp because he refuses to give up his belief in Falun Gong. Although a German Court has confirmed Jiang Renzheng and his family as refugees, the CCP still has them under house arrest.
Wang Xiaoyan, wife of Zhang Zhentong, a Falun Gong practitioner at Leipzig University in Germany, is still under restraint in a labour camp in Shenyang, China, because of practicing Falun Gong. Her passport has been confiscated by the Chinese police, which makes it impossible for her to come to Germany and be reunited with her husband. On March 27th, 2006, she was arrested by police waiting at her doorway and in August was illegally sentenced two years and detained in Masanjia labour camp.
Finally, the open letter calls on the German Government, the media and all citizens to help defend the justice of humans and in the end, stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the CCP.
