Taiwan: Falun Gong Truth-Clarification at Fair to Welcome New Students

On September 19th and September 20th, a fair showcasing student organisations, along with an activity to welcome new students, was held at National Tsing Hua University. It was a large-scale activity to welcome new students and introduce them to the various student organisations on campus. Students who practise Falun Gong took this opportunity to introduce Falun Dafa to more students. Falun Gong practitioners at National Chiao Tung University and National Hsinchu University of Education also came to help with the activity.

Students from the Falun Dafa Organisation distributed fliers and introductory brochures and exposed the persecution of Falun Gong in Mainland China. This summer, a new group exercise site was established across the street from the dining hall. The crowds of student who go to the dining hall at lunchtime see the practitioners do their exercises. Many students went to the Falun Gong booth to enquire about Falun Dafa at the fair.

One student told the practitioners that one of her high school teachers practised Falun Gong and had told them about the benefits of Falun Dafa and the persecution in Mainland China. A student said he had seen a poster on campus exposing the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. He asked if it was true. The practitioners told him that David Kilgour, former Canadian Secretary of State and Member of Parliament, and international human rights attorney David Matas made an independent investigation and released their report in July. The report confirmed the existence of large-scale organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners by the CCP. The student was shocked. He said he would help spread the news in order to stop the persecution.

A group of students had heard about Falun Gong-related news on TV. They asked practitioners why the CCP would persecute Falun Gong. A practitioner answered, "Because of Falun Gong's amazing health effects, 70 million people practised Falun Gong within seven years of its introduction. There were only 60 million Communist Party members. The CCP couldn't stand to see so many people having faith in Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance and launched the persecution." The group of students read some printed materials and asked practitioners to demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises. The practitioners' friends also came over to greet and encourage them.

Several new students from Mainland China took some truth-clarification materials from the booth. They were surprised to see a Falun Dafa organisation at Tsing Hua University. The practitioners told them about the organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and that 13 million people had quit the CCP. They hoped that the students from Mainland China would visit the websites blocked by the CCP in Mainland China. The students said they would read these materials carefully.
