A Life That Has Been Changed Forever

Eight years ago, Xiaoqi (an alias) was a 13 or 14 year-old junior high school student who suffered from chronic glomerulonephritis, a serious condition affecting the kidney.

According to medical experts, people who are diagnosed with this type of disease need to spend a lot of money on treatment and yet the chances of recovery are still slim. The illness will eventually weaken the kidney, causing uraemia. For a peasant family like Xiaoqi's, it was impossible for them to afford the expense of a kidney transplant. And after the operation, would he reject the new organ? No one could predict how many years he would survive after the transplantation surgery.

In the end, Xiaoqi withdrew from school. In addition to collecting money to pay for treatments, his family sold off everything of value in the house, except the house itself. They also borrowed as much money as they could. His mother cried everyday, and the family was on the verge of collapse.

One day, Xiaoqi's mother met a fortuneteller on the street. The fortuneteller told her, "Your son has a serious kidney problem." His mother begged the fortuneteller to guide her to a way out. He said, "Everybody's life is prearranged. If you want to change your son's life, you only have one choice and that is to find a master of cultivation."

Xiaoqi's mother later met several Falun Dafa practitioners, including me. She cried and told us the above story.

I gave Xiaoqi a copy of Zhuan Falun. He eventually understood that in order to change his life, he would have to cultivate. Since then, he has diligently cultivated in Falun Dafa and so his body was purified. The urine he excreted in the first few days was white. He became normal after that, and felt more energetic. When he went to the hospital for a check-up, he had miraculously recovered from the chronic glomerulonephritis.

Xiaoqi's mother happily told me about the big change in Xiaoqi. I then asked her, "Why don't you cultivate, too?" She was rather surprised to hear that. She then told me, "I had a dream last night. Someone gave me a stack of paper and told me that it was a treasure. I said, 'This is only a stack of paper. How can it be considered treasure?' I then woke up." I commented, "You need to enlighten to something. Isn't this obvious? Your son has recovered from such a serious illness and so you know that Falun Dafa is so good. Why can't you see it's true value? Falun Dafa has already been delivered to your door, yet you still can't see it for what it truly is, a great treasure." My words awakened her and so she too began her cultivation in Falun Gong.

Xiaoqi resumed his studies soon after starting to practise and is now at university.
