I am a schoolteacher. Although I am not a Falun Dafa practitioner, my family, including my grandmother, father and mother, have all endured the persecution because they are practitioners. Due to their firm belief in Falun Dafa, my family, like other families in similar situations, suffered a lot of brutality. At the same time, I shouldered tremendous pressure and felt helpless.
My father often taught me to be a good person, do good deeds, and be kind and helpful to others. He wanted me to consider others first, be generous, to not find fault in others, and to be fair. His words are rooted deeply in my heart.
I cannot count the number of times my father was illegally arrested by policemen. My heart was torn apart every time he was taken away. Each time, I had to face discrimination from my students, criticism from relatives, and insults to my parents. I was extremely confused. All I felt was hatred for this world and the policemen who took my father away. I formed a faulty concept of the faith that my father so dearly insisted upon. I thought that he was too stubborn, and out of touch with current affairs. I thought that Falun Gong brought disaster to my family. When I gradually became clearheaded, I recognised that there was nothing wrong with my father’s criterion to be a good person and his believing in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." Was there any justice or morality if they persecuted good people like my father? The real murderers were those who persecuted innocent people who follow the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The practitioners in China, the land that possesses five thousand years of civilisation, endured persecution because they had the courage to stand up for the truth in the face of violence and torture, even the possibility of losing their lives. I am not a practitioner, but as a teacher I have deep respect and admiration for their spirit! They are truly good people.
From now on, I will diligently follow the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" to be a good person, uphold the justice that my father advocated, and distinguish real goodness from evil.
I firmly believe that goodness will overcome evil. The people who persecute practitioners will receive their deserved retribution. The world needs "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and blessings and peace will reward good people.
