On October 15th, 2006, people from all circles in Melbourne participated in a large rally and march to support 14 million Chinese people who have renounced the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and to promote the spread of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and the withdrawals from the CCP. The march started from Victoria Provincial Library, passed through Chinatown and ended at City Square.

During the day, the weather changed to cooler temperatures and a strong wind. The march began with waist drummers, followed by large banners worded, "The Heavens will destroy the CCP," "Spreading the Nine Commentaries, renouncing the CCP" and other messages. The people shouted, "No more CCP!" "Quit the CCP!" and, "Stop killing!" Along the march route, many people stopped to watch and applaud. A woman in her 60s wept after reading the flyer exposing the CCP’s atrocities of removing organs from living people. She said, "I am an immigrant from Hungary. My father was killed by the Communist Party in the 1957 incident. Though the incident is past, and I live in a country of freedom now, I will never forget the pain. I know the CCP can commit the crime of live organ removal. You are doing the right thing to expose it."
After the march, a rally was held on City Square. Mr. Anderson, Chairman of "Free China" in Victoria, Mr. Peng Wang from the Melbourne Service Center for Quitting the CCP, a representative from the Falun Dafa Association of Victoria, Mr. Zhonghua Xiao from the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG), Mr. Huiqiang Pan from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, Mr. Jie Yuan, Deputy Director of the Chinese Democratic Party, and many others gave speeches at the rally. They condemned the CCP atrocities, supported the withdrawals from the CCP and called on the Chinese people to speak their indignation of the CCP. They also called on the Australian people to write or call their Senators and Members of Parliament, and the media to express their condemnation of the CCP and focus attention on the current situation of live organ removal.
A Green Party candidate gave a speech at the rally and talked about how he learned about Falun Gong. He had read about the persecution of Falun Gong in newspapers and wanted to know more about the practice and why the CCP persecutes it. He talked with a spokesperson of the CIPFG and invited him to talk about Falun Gong at a Green Party gathering. The Green Party member attended the rally last month on the square. The party supports Falun Gong. The Green Party has written to the Prime Minister to urge him to exert pressure on the CCP to stop the persecution.
In the rally, a practitioner sang an English song entitled, "Sujiatun," to commemorate those Falun Gong practitioners who died from the CCP’s live organ harvesting. The sad song caught the attention of many people and the atmosphere was solemn. Many signed the petition calling to boycott the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and for a thorough investigation of the organ harvesting crimes.
