Austria: More from the Lotus Peace Tour

The week long “Lotus-Peace Tour” took four practitioners of Falun Gong through nine Austrian provinces to alert Austrians to the suffering of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Those who practise this peaceful cultivation way have been brutally persecuted in China since 1999. Torture and abuse are daily occurrences in slave labour camps. Recently, it has been exposed that the CCP has been trading in organs harvested from Falun Gong practitioners while the victims were still alive

Bad Ischl and Wels

Day five of the tour was blessed with sunshine and school children. The car tour had taken a little longer than planned and it was near the end of the road. We were made especially aware of this as one of our tour members would leave our team that evening, as planned. Then, we would be only three for the remainder of the trip.

On the fifth day, the team arrived at the summer health resort frequented by Emperor Franz Josef, Bad Ischl. The environment was very pleasant. We erected our booth directly across from a secondary school and outside a church.

Vice Mayor Josef Reisenbichler welcomed us and was presented by the tour members with a framed picture, to remind him of the Lotus-Peace tour. He also received information about the persecution of Falun Gong, and a Kilgour-Matas report about organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.

Mr. Reisenbichler showed quite some interest when viewing images of art created by Falun Gong practitioners and said that it is just incomprehensible what is going on in China at this time. He wished practitioners all the best and much success. He also seemed to be open to the possibility of hosting an art exhibition in Bad Ischl. As a farewell gift, the practitioners presented him with a tour badge and a folded paper lotus flower.

A lady from the Upper Austria Review stopped by at our booth and took photos. We presented her with information about the tour, especially prepared for the media. A little later, a lady stopped by who worked at the Federal Chancellery. She said, “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance? Our politician could use more of that!” She took with her one of our media packages and said that she would share it with her co-workers.

A group of school children and their teacher stopped by and listened carefully to the sincere presentation about the persecution in China by a practitioner. They listened attentively to the practitioners’ explanations from beginning to end. Then, they viewed all the pictures we had displayed.

We continued our tour towards Wels. Our booth was located in the pedestrian zone, directly opposite the election campaign booth of the Communist Party of Austria (KPO). We exposed the truth about the crimes of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to all those of the KPO who were distributing flyers. But, they did not sign the petition. However the citizens of Welser accepted the information material gladly.


We shared understandings and experience with practitioners from the area of Amstetten (Lower Austria), who had invited us to stay with them that evening. We ended the fifth day of our tour by studying the principles of Falun Dafa together.
