In its systematic, state-orchestrated crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), with its genocidal policies, has intimidated and lured with tremendous financial incentives the military, the police, the judiciary system, the medical community, and all levels of governmental entities, many intermediary agencies, and organ transplant patients and their families into taking part. During the process, the CCP not only brutally murders Falun Gong practitioners in a way that challenges the bottom line of mankind's morality, but it also devours conscience and human nature and fundamentally destroys people. This has been called a "grotesque form of evil new to this planet," and it will forever remain a lesson for humankind.
3. The CCP Directs the Harvesting of Organs from Living Falun Gong Practitioners Using the Military
3.1 The Military is the Core of the System that Directs Harvesting of Organs from Living Falun Gong Practitioners
In April of 2006, a witness within the military medical system revealed the CCP's crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. Some of the testimony is repeated below:
"The core management system in China for the organ transplants and harvesting organs from live Falun Gong practitioners is from the military. The military supervising and managing is carried out by the related military personnel or organisations authorised by the CCP Military Commission. Related information is classified as military secrets. The military supervising and managing personnel have the right to arrest, detain, or execute any doctors, police, paramilitary police, or research staff who leak secrets to the outside. The military personnel have clearance from the CCP Military Commission. Many military facilities are true concentration camps."
"In the underground concentration camp at the Sujiatun District Hospital, there were indeed over 10,000 people kept there in early 2005, but at the present time, the number of detainees there is maintained at 600-750. Many detainees have been transferred to other concentration camps." "It takes no more than a day to transfer 5,000 people in a closed freight train on a special route. I witnessed a specially dispatched freight train transferring over 7,000 people in one trip from Tianjin to the Jilin area. It ran at night, guarded by the Chinese army. Everyone on the train was handcuffed to specially designed handrails on top of the ceiling like rotisserie chickens."
"As I said before, in the eyes of these people [who are doing the surgeries], the people whose organs are being removed are no longer regarded as human, but animals. When doing it for the first or second time, some of them feel shaky and nervous. But after thousands of operations, everything is changed. They become numb about extracting organs from living people and cremating live people."
"In China, there are also a large number of live people being exported. In other words, the Chinese people that meet certain physical criteria are exported overseas as products through a network, and they are accompanied by fabricated 'voluntary' consent forms. The organ transplants are done overseas, and the bodies of the transplant sources are also destroyed. In many countries there are Chinese-operated agencies that handle the bodies after organ transplants from live people take place. Many Chinese embassies and consulates are also involved. I know that more than 940 people were exported in 2005."
"According to the regime, all of the organ donors are voluntary, and from official channels. Falun Gong practitioners and other detainees are held using their real names, but when it comes to organ transplants, fake names are used. In other words, a false identity is created for each person. However, all of the person's information is complete, and a voluntary transplant organ donation form is signed (with a faked signature). I have encountered over 60,000 of these documents with falsified signatures. All of them say that the individual voluntarily agrees to a certain organ transplant (including heart) and will be responsible for all of the consequences. Many of the signatures are the same person's handwriting. These documents are kept for 18 months and must be destroyed at the end of 18 months. The documents are kept at the provincial-level military regions. Reviewing these documents would require permission from the residing special commissioner from the CCP Central Committee."
3.2 Important Role of Military Hospitals
Due to their convenient access to the organ bank of imprisoned, live Falun Gong practitioners, the military hospitals, including the Chinese army, the military police and the public security bureau's hospitals, play an important role in harvesting organs from live Falun Gong practitioners. With their advanced skills and medical equipment, these military hospitals have been doing organ transplants in large batches by ripping and selling organs from live Falun Gong practitioners. They are given the "important responsibility" of performing organ transplant for CCP leaders and foreign VIPs. The CCP have transformed them into "butchers in white robes."
The People's Liberation Army (PLA) General Hospital (or Beijing "301" Hospital) is the largest general hospital for the PLA. It provides medical treatment, clinical education, health care, and scientific research. All the complicated diseases of the military personnel of different ranks and categories from different military regions are referred to the PLA General Hospital. It provides medical treatment and health care for the leaders of the state and on the military committees. It is a rule of the hospital that the sources and the number of the organs for organ transplants must be kept confidential. Anyone who reveals the information will never do surgery again. In July of 2006, a physician promised a patient to find a matching liver within a week's time.
At Guangzhou City's First Military Medical University's South Hospital and Chongqing City's Tri-Military Service Daxinhua Hospital, helicopters can land on the hospitals' rooftop. These hospitals may request a military escort transfer of the harvested organs or "donors" if needed to ensure the successful and discreet service of organ transplants for the Chinese and foreign VIPs. This is an open secret.
In the November of 2003 Vol.3 No.11 of Chinese Medicine Magazine, two physicians from Guangzhou City's First Military Medical University's South Hospital published an article entitled, "Experiences of Guiding Graduate Student Interns on Clinical Kidney Transplants." It says:
"With the increase of kidney transplants at our department, many young physicians from all over China, including those from the army, are pursuing the study of Master's and Ph.D degrees on kidney transplantation at our college. Upon completing their study at school, they are required to work as interns at our department for six to eight months."
"The harvesting of a kidney is an important part of a kidney transplant. The key is to reduce the loss of warm blood supply. Under various complicated environments, physicians need to prevent the kidney from damage during the harvesting. [...] Before each kidney transplant surgery, the instructors will explain to the interns the important points of the surgery. After each surgery, the instructors will explain to the interns how they solved the problems during the surgery. [...] With the increase of interns involved in the harvest of kidneys, they will start harvesting kidneys under their respective instructors. [...] The interns learnt from the actual hands-on experience during the kidney transplant surgeries. [...] From knowing little about kidney transplantation to a professional kidney transplant physician, the majority of the interns, upon graduation, were sent to different hospitals and became part of the main team of kidney transplant physicians there."
At many websites related to organ transplants, a large number of young organ transplant physicians claim that they "have had a wealth of experiences in harvesting and transplanting organs." The quoted article from Chinese Medicine Magazine illustrates how the CCP trained those physicians who ought to be life-savers to become murderous, inhuman slaughterers in white robes.
3.3 Huge Number of Organ Transplants Performed in Military Hospitals
According to the investigation conducted by World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG), so far, the majority of some 150 military hospitals in China have performed organ transplants. The information found on these hospitals' websites reveals their appallingly large number of organ transplants.
As the core medical organisation of organ transplant in the army, the Second Military Medicine University's Changzheng Hospital is highly "accomplished." According to its public statistics, the hospital has conducted over 2,800 kidney transplants and over 300 liver transplants. In the nine days between April 22nd and April 30th, 2005, the hospital completed 16 liver transplants and 15 kidney transplants. According to its website, the hospital claims to have created a new record for the highest number of organ transplants in the shortest amount of time.
The Liver Department at the Third Military Medical University's Southwest Hospital in Chongqing City became the People's Liberation Army's liver transplant centre. In fact, it is now one of the largest liver and pancreas surgery centres. It started performing liver transplants in 1999. The hospital has three liver and pancreas surgery wards. Each year over 3,000 Chinese and foreign patients suffering from liver and pancreatic diseases come here to seek medical treatment. It has performed over 2,400 organ transplants so far. It also has the facility and professional staff to perform six liver transplants at the same time. In order to expand its liver transplant capacity, the hospital is increasing its beds from 122 to 150.
Jinan Military Region General Hospital may be a medium size hospital, but its Urology Department has completed 1,500 kidney transplants. Qilu Evening News had the following report on March 21st, 2005, about Chairman Li Xiangtie, who graduated from Shanghai's Second Military University: "Under the leadership of Chairman Li Xiangtie, the Urology Department is staffed with a group of excellent professionals. The department has the capacity to perform six kidney transplants at the same time and has created a national record for performing 16 back-to-back kidney transplants in 24 hours." Li Xiangtie's instructor, Mr. Li Shenqin, has performed over 1,000 kidney transplants.
In its report on May 23rd, 2006, entitled, "A Military Doctor's Highest Realm and Pursuit," Liaoxi Commercial Newspaper says that Chen Rongshan, Chairman at the PLA "205" Hospital and Deputy Chairman of Jinzhou City Medicine Association's Urology Subcommittee, has completed 568 kidney transplants. PLA "205" Hospital is located in the small town of Jinzhou. It is appalling that it is capable of obtaining such a large number of matching kidneys.
During the The Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG)'s telephone investigation [by posing as potential organ transplant patients,] the investigators discovered that many military hospitals, such as Nanjing Military General Hospital, Shenyang Military General Hospital, Shandong Army General Hospital, and Fujian Military General Hospital, claimed to have done a lot of organ transplants. Fujian Military General Hospital claimed to have performed the second or third highest number of organ transplants for the past two to three years. Xinjiang Air Force Hospital claimed to have a large number of male donors in their 20s and 30s. It also claimed that, when doctors in Beijing and Shanghai cannot find kidneys, they will bring their patients here.
