On December 9th, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners from Queensland Australia were invited to the Christmas Parade organised by the Pine Rivers Shire City Council. Pine Rivers Shire is a close neighbour of Brisbane, and its annual Christmas Parade is one the most important community events. This year, over 30 groups participated in the parade. Falun Gong joined the parade for the first time and stood out with its unique colourful costumes, waist drum team, Falun Gong exercise demonstration, and celestial maiden dancers.
The music, "Falun Dafa is Good," accompanied the procession the whole length of the parade. Many local residents were introduced to Falun Gong for the first time. Spectators cheered and waved to Falun Gong practitioners. Some called out, "Falun Gong! You're great!" Many people took photos and video footage to record the beauty of Falun Gong.

The parade organiser said that Falun Gong made a deep impression on people with its unique parade style. People liked it very much.
Before the event ended, a westerner said to a Falun Gong practitioner that he was very happy to find Falun Gong here. He asked for some introductory materials about the practice and took down the contact information of the local group exercise site.
