Russia: Practitioners Hold Activities in St. Petersburg to Expose the Persecution of Falun Gong in China

During the 2007 New Year break, Falun Gong practitioners in Russia and some practitioners from Ukraine, Czech Republic and Sweden held three days of activities in St Petersburg. They studied the principles of Falun Gong together, shared their cultivation experiences and organised activities to let people know the truth about Falun Gong.

During the three day gathering, they read Zhuan Falun, the main text of Falun Dafa and the latest articles by Master Li and benefited greatly. Especially after reading Master’s latest article My Thanks to Sentient Beings Who Have Sent Greetings; they all deeply felt Master’s great benevolent compassion. At the same time, they also realised the great responsibilities bestowed upon Falun Gong practitioners in saving sentient beings.

During the experience sharing, many practitioners shared their cultivation experiences and their efforts in telling people the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong according to their local situations. They also shared the overall cultivation problems currently existing among Falun Gong practitioners, especially on the issue of the coordination as a whole body. After sharing, practitioners all felt that they should look inwards when faced with problems. They formed deeper understanding that one should pay special attention to their own cultivation while doing the three things well. Everyone benefited from the sharing.

On the morning of January 6th, Falun Gong practitioners simultaneously held activities at two different locations in the city centre, exposing the evil crimes committed by the Chinese communist regime in its seven year long brutal persecution of Falun Gong, especially the brutality of harvesting organs for profits from living Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners distributed various materials to passers-by. Having suffered greatly themselves under the evil Communist Party, the Russian people fully understood and supported the just efforts by Falun Gong practitioners against the persecution. Many people not only accepted material, they also wanted to learn more about Falun Gong from the practitioners. After learning the truth, they all condemned the Chinese Communist regime’s crimes and signed the petition to show their support for Falun Gong.

During the three day gathering, every morning there were practitioners who went to the Chinese Consulate to hold individual protests (according to Russian law, a one person protest does not need a permit). Although it was only one person holding a protesting banner at the Chinese Consulate, not faraway practitioners in groups of three to five people spread out and sent forth righteous thoughts. Together, they formed a very strong righteous field. Although it was individuals protesting, they functioned as a whole body. Officials at the Chinese Consulate came out a few times requesting the police to stop the peaceful protest by Falun Gong practitioners. But the police informed the officials that the protesting Falun Gong practitioners were not violating any law; therefore they had no power to interfere.
