Belgium: People Genuinely Concerned about the Persecution of Falun Gong in China

On March 3rd and 4th, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners attended the Eco-Therapeutica Beurs Expo in the city of Leuven in Belgium. The Falun Gong booth was dominated by the large words “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance” and photos of Falun Gong practitioners’ peaceful appeals to end the brutal persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist regime. On the table, there was introductory material about the practice, material exposing the Chinese Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong and the regime’s organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners for lucrative profit. During the activity, practitioners also taught people how to make paper lotus flower to express their concerns for the persecuted children who practice Falun Gong. Many people of various ages were attracted by the Falun activity and came to the stand.

People came to the stand to learn how to fold paper lotus flowers while listening to practitioners explanations of the persecution

There was a visitor who was folding paper lotus flower while touring the stand and looking at all the displays. He said, “We can breath the relaxing and peaceful air here. The atmosphere around here is so calm and harmonious. The strong and pure energy spreading out from this stand gives people this wonderful feeling.” He came back again next day.

While folding paper lotus flowers, people also listened to practitioners talk about the ongoing brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China. The story of little Fadu and her mother was extremely moving: under the inhuman persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the evil Chinese Communist regime, little Fadu’s father was tortured to death when she was a baby. In order to end this terrible persecution, she and her mother tour around the world to appeal for help.

People also listened very carefully about the atrocity of the Chinese Communist regime’s organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners for lucrative profits. They all strongly condemned the regime’s crimes and expressed their support for Falun Gong practitioners’ efforts to end this persecution. Many people asked what they could do to help. It was a regular occurrence see tears in people’s eyes. Two ladies said that they would continue to fold paper lotus flowers and gave them to more people with Falun Gong information attached. They felt that this was the duty they must fulfil. Practitioners were very moved by people’s kind support.

Practitioners also demonstrated Falun Gong exercises and instructed people who were interested in learning the practice about the exercise sites.
