Slovak Republic: Introducing Falun Gong to the People of Skalica

On Saturday June 10th, Slovak Falun Gong practitioners visited Skalica, a small town in western Slovakia. In the main square, practitioners set up a petition table and stands with banners about Falun Gong and about the persecution of the practice in China.

A local man stopped to sign the petition. He said, "In our country people often forget tolerance. He added that it is probably because of people’s faith in something that they were able to go through such a long historic periods. Then he said that modern life seems too hectic to him and he misses a return to traditional things.

Many people stopped for a while and expressed interest in the Falun Gong exercises and their effect on health and some wanted to learn. One lady said she was willing to learn Falun Gong in order to gain peace and balance of mind.

One local inhabitant said that the communist regime caused a lot of trouble in our country and it is probably the same in China, although for some people this idea might be hard to accept.

During the activity, more then fifty people signed the petition.
