Finland: "Please help to rescue my parents"

Many people pass by Helsinki Central Railway station every Saturday. On June 16th, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners returned to raise awareness about the eight year inhuman persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party. Chinese overseas student Sunny appealed for the rescue of her father Zhang Weijie, who was illegally arrested by police in China, and her mother Chen Man, who was kidnapped when rescuing Zhang.

There was a banner written in both Chinese and Finnish, “Please stretch out your helping hands, help to rescue my parents”. This was the appeal from Chinese student Sunny to the Finnish government and local people. Sunny said that her family members in China had not seen her mother Chen Man since she was kidnapped on June 8th in the process of rescuing her husband Zhang Weijie. But although the 610 office did not deny they had kidnapped her, they refused to give any reason or let the family members to visit her. "My old and sick grandmother not only lost my mother's attendance, but also had to go everywhere looking for my mother. I am separated by seas and oceans, cannot directly rescue my parents, look after and comfort my grandmother. I hereby sincerely appeal to the Finnish government and the people to stretch out their helping hands, exert pressure on the Chinese Communist Party, let them respect human rights, end the persecution, release my parents as well as the thousands of Falun Gong practitioners".

After reading the information, very many Finnish people came to listen to the Finnish practitioners explain the details of the kidnapping of Sunny’s parents. Many promised to mail appeal letters to Finnish politicians to help rescue her parents, or signed to express their support to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. Several Finns praised the practitioners with tears, "You have made a very good situation." And then asked anxiously, "How we can stop this persecution, what can we do?"

A young female after reading a banner, asked, "How long has this brutal persecution been going on?" The practitioner told her, It has been eight years, since the persecution started on July 20th, 1999. The cruellest deed is that they harvest Falun Gong practitioners’ organs to sell and burn the corpses to extinguish the evidence. After hearing this, a lady felt so sad that she cried; she signed the petition to stop the persecution immediately.

An elderly gentleman said to the practitioners, "I know why the Chinese Communist Party persecutes Falun Gong; because at that time Jiang Zemin feared you Falun Gong practitioners were too many and you only want be a practitioner, not one of the party".

A young man said to practitioner Wang that, "I have a friend in Xinjiang who told me, he knew a very high official in Xinjiang who is a Falun Gong practitioner and was put into jail and lost his government position. The prison authorities said to him, "As long as you give up Falun Gong, we will restore your position, your car, your house and your salary. He said he would never give up cultivating 'Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance'. My friend said that he did not realise that there was such person like this at the present time. I really admire him".
