Sweden: More about the Art Exhibition Held in Gotenburg

"I feel the power of truthfulness, benevolence and forbearance in the exhibition!" Swedish Congresswoman Eva Selin Lindgren talked about her feeling at the opening ceremony of the international "truthfulness, benevolence and forbearance" art exhibition held at Gordburg City Library on July 6th.

The library in Gotenborg is located in the cultural centre of the most flourishing street of Gotenborg, neighbouring the Grand Theatre, the History Museum and the Concert Hall. The week long exhibition has attracted numerous people, artists, political figures and tourists. Some came because of the reputation of the exhibition; others were drawn into the exhibition when they passed the exhibition venue.

The works were created by a group of artists from different backgrounds. These artists have elevated their physical and mental health and spirit by practising Falun Gong. The works also presented the wonderful realm of harmony between man and nature and the assimilation of life into truthfulness, benevolence, and forbearance. They also showed the good and evil in this cruel persecution against Falun Gong launched by the Chinese Communist Party of China, a great human calamity, as well as the universal rule of reward for good and retribution for evil. When evil challenges the principle of truthfulness, benevolence, and forbearance, Falun Gong practitioners, with a steadfast and persevering and unyielding spirit, faced hatred, wreck, even plunder and killing with a mind of great benevolence and forbearance. These works showed the people and looked on as justice, freedom, dignity and courage.

Swedish congresswoman Eva Selin Lindgren said in the opening ceremony, "truthfulness, benevolence, and forbearance" are very important values in human life. However, people who believe in "truthfulness, benevolence, and forbearance" suffered cruel persecution by the Chinese Communist Party dictatorship in China. The exhibition demonstrates the courage of people who believe in "truthfulness, benevolence, and forbearance" that is really admirable.

Another Swedish congressman Hans Rothenberg spoke at the opening ceremony, "While Sweden and China are strengthening economic and trade ties, the two should promote democracy and human rights. We should put forward a request to the Swedish athletes and staff members participating in the Olympic Games in Beijing next year to be Ambassadors of Swedish democracy and human rights. They should bear the obligation of improving the democratic process and improvement of human rights in China. The Gotenborg ship should bring the Swedish people's democracy and human rights into China too."

A lady over fifty years old, afer seeing the exhibition, told a Falun Gong practitioner who helped organise this exhibition: "This exhibition touches the heart very much. I come from Kristianstad. You are welcomed to hold this exhibition in our city library. I can provide accommodation to you for no charge."

A gentleman stayed in infront of Professor Zhang Kunlun's "red wall" for a long time and wrote on the guestbook: "So long as people have faith and righteous thoughts, there will be hope."

An Indian student who studies at Gotenborg University carefully viewed every painting and said, " This persecution is too cruel. The suffering of Falun Gong practitioners in the paintings is so real. I am very sad."

Some visitors said they will recommend this exhibition to the Olympic Committee of Sweden. A lot of people showed an intention to understand more about Falun Gong.

Margareta Nordh, a Falun Gong practitioner who helped organise this exhibition said with deep feeling: "A lot of people visited this exhibition every day. They learned about this exhibition from different sources. Some people brought their colleague, friends or their children to see the exhibition after they had seen it. They generally think this is a touching exhibition. We will continue to hold this exhibition in other cities of Sweden so that more people will understand Falun Gong and the truth of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the evil Chinese Communist Party."
