[Editor's note: October 1 is what the Chinese Communist regime claim to be National Day.]
On September 30th, 2007, people from the San Francisco Bay Area held a rally at Garden Corner Square in San Francisco's Chinatown. People at the rally mourned the 80 million Chinese killed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and sought to awaken the consciences of the Chinese people so they can break away from the CCP as soon as possible.

People at the rally displayed banners that read, "God Will Eliminate the CCP," "Spread the Nine Commentaries and Quit the CCP to Save Yourself," "Support the 26 Million Courageous Chinese People Who Have Quit the CCP," "Eliminate the CCP Evil Specter and Resume Traditional Chinese Divinely-inspired Culture," "The Red Flag Brings Blood Everywhere," "The CCP Doesn't Represent China," "Being Patriotic Is Not the Equivalent of Loving the CCP," and "The CCP Destroys Traditional Chinese Culture, Quitting the CCP Is True Patriotism."
As the rally started, a pro-Beijing group made loud noises to try to disrupt the activity. After several speakers provided evidence and talked about how the CCP tortures people, sells China's territory, and destroys the culture every Chinese is proud of, that group of people quieted down and listened intently.
October 1st is the Chinese Memorial Day. To speak the truth is to protect one's conscience
CIPFG spokesperson Dr. Sherry Zhang said that many Chinese people confuse "supporting the CCP" with "being patriotic." True patriotism is to love the country's environment, the culture, and its people. Ms. Zhang said, "The CCP, after taking power, started many political movements and killed 80 million Chinese people. The 'Great Cultural Revolution' destroyed the traditional Chinese culture. Over one million square kilometres of territory was sold to neighboring countries. Unarmed students and citizens in Beijing were murdered in Tiananmen Square. Falun Gong practitioners who practise Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are killed and their organs are removed."
Ms. Zhang said that many people mistakenly think that the CCP is behind the economic boom in China. What these people don't know is that the CCP almost destroyed itself after so many movements and it had to have economic reform and open up its markets. Without the CCP's suppression, the economy in China would have grown faster. Because the Chinese people are hardworking, capable of enduring hardship, and intelligent, they created their own fortunes and the economy, not the CCP.
Zhen Wenbiao from the Northern California Service Center for Quitting the CCP described the CCP as a blood-sucking demon. Mr. Zhen said, "In China, the CCP set up a Party division in every office of every organisation. The staff members in the Party division do nothing but take their salaries, watch the people, and plan how to eliminate dissidents." "Isn't it clear what the CCP does in China? They never did one good thing. If you are patriotic, would you love this Party?"
Mr. Zhen pointed out that everyone should speak the truth, which is also a way to preserve one's conscience. "When history goes by and later generations ask you, 'Which side did you take, the side of evil or the side of justice? Did you help at the time?' Will you be able to answer with a clear conscience?"
A witness to the CCP robbing people's property
A Chinese woman in her 80s who moved to the U.S. 20 years ago from Guangdong, China, was at the rally. She said that before the CCP took over the power, people were very kind and nobody ever lost anything in the village she came from. She enjoyed living there when she was young. Now in China, everyone worries about being cheated. The CCP took away all the land her family used to farm to make a living. Her family's life in China now is very difficult. She said, "The CCP doesn't think about the people. Without the CCP, China will be better."
Find and Read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in order to understand the truth
Mr. Yu, a San Francisco resident and former professor at a Chinese University, told the Chinese people not to be deceived on the issue of the CCP. He hopes that those who love China will love China's environment and its people and not the killer CCP. Mr. Yu said the Falun Gong issue is waking up the Chinese people. Those with any conscience left should look for the truth.
Mr. Dai, an immigrant from Hong Kong, thinks Americans don't know the truth about the CCP and always try to deal with the CCP as if it were based in normal human thinking. Mr. Dai said that the CCP isn't human, but an evil spectre. A human mind simply can't begin to imagine how evil the CCP is. He said he didn't understand the CCP much before he read the Nine Commentaries.
