On October 14th, 2007, US Congressman Joseph Crowley from New York State proclaimed that October 15th, 2007 was to be recognised as "International Chinese Vocal Competition Celebration Day," to honor the vocal competition in New York that day.
Congressman Crowley said that the competition will offer people from different cultures a chance to appreciate and enjoy Chinese vocal performances. He pointed out that New York State is home to 400,000 Chinese people.
He praised NTDTV for continuing to bring traditional Chinese culture and performing arts to the international stage over the last few years. He pointed out that the Global Chinese New Year Gala hosted by NTDTV has become one of the biggest celebrations of the Chinese New Year in the world.
Congressman Crowley said that NTDTV and other organisers of the vocal competition will bring 5000 years of traditional Chinese culture and vocal arts to New York, helping New York maintain its status as a world leader of the arts.
Congressman Crowley hoped that all the people who watch the competition will appreciate this opportunity, which brings them rich culture and happiness.
On February 14th, 2007, one hour before the first show of the NTDTV Chinese New Year Spectacular, a representative of New York's Mayor Bloomberg brought the Mayor's proclamation to designate February 14th as NTDTV Chinese New Year Spectacular Show Day. Mr. Guillermo Linares, Commissioner of the New York Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, presented the Mayor's proclamation to NTDTV President Li Zong. Mr. Linares expressed that NTDTV brought wonderful feelings to people through the excellent performances.
The International Chinese Vocal Competition will be held in Kaufmann Concert Hall, New York City from October 15th to 17th. It is one of the "Global Competition Series" hosted by NTDTV.
During the reception of the competition on October 17th, the Divine Performing Arts will perform.
