France: Practitioners Gather in Lille for Joint Activities

On December 8th, 2007, French and Belgian Falun Gong practitioners organised an activity in the northern industrial city of Lille in France to raise awareness about Falun Gong and the persecution. Lille is the capital city of France's Northern Province, its population exceeds one million and it is the most important industrial and commercial centre and a transportation hinge. This activity was the first of its kind in this city.

There is only one practitioner in the Lille area, so, in order to do it well, some Parisian and Belgian practitioners went to support. Among them, the youngest was only seven years old. The activity went on from 2.30pm to 6.30pm in the afternoon. As well as displaying eye catching banners and laying out many pictures of Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted in China, they also had exercise demonstrations, a flute player and distributed leaflet to passers by, which attracted many people to stop and watch. Although it was very cold on the day and was raining continuously, practitioners cherished this opportunity, and persisted in doing a good job despite the heavy rain.
