In a residential area of Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, similar Falun Gong videos were broadcast on the evening of April 21st. On the evening of April 23rd villains in the city planned to detain all the "listed" Falun Gong practitioners. According to informed sources, pedestrians were monitored on certain streets in that city by thugs working in tandem, who either waited at sensitive spots or hid in motor vehicles.
As the bedrock of a country's legal system, the Constitution is hallowed and inviolable. Thus, any infringement on the Constitution brings damage to a nation's foundation, and constitutes the greatest crime. If this happens, it is incumbent upon the public to safeguard the Constitution through various means, and to stop the crime. In fact, the laws of any kind are meaningful only when they are able to restrain evil, support goodness, and uphold justice. Otherwise, they are nothing but rules set forth by thugs under their own roof. Similarly, people in law enforcement can live up to their titles only when they are capable of upholding justice; otherwise, they are no different from scoundrels wearing police costumes. In the same vein, no well-functioning, stable human society can endure if respect for justice is replaced by someone's personal orders. Otherwise, each and every member of society will feel the threat to his or her personal security; all members of society will become potential enemies with each other; and the nation will become something that exists only on paper.
In spite of explicit recognition in the Chinese Constitution that citizens are entitled to the freedom of belief, Jiang and his followers have implemented horrifying policies against Falun Gong practitioners, which are designed to "damage their reputations, bankrupt their finances, and eliminate their bodies." In addition, those "beaten to death with impunity are counted as suicide." So far, at least 400 kind-hearted, innocent Chinese citizens have been tortured to death and have become victims of these policies. In addition, tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners are illegally detained and forced to endure extreme brutalities. Numerous Falun Gong practitioners are kidnapped to brainwashing classes and are forced to renounce their beliefs under coercion. Sadly, Falun Gong practitioners have been deprived of their most basic constitutional rights.
The Chinese constitution also clearly guarantees citizens' freedom of expression. However, Jiang and his clique, using the state-run media, have relentlessly slandered Falun Gong while denying Falun Gong practitioners' right to have their own voice. This has left Falun Gong practitioners with no choice but to exercise their right to free expression by such peaceful actions as posting flyers, hanging banners, and distributing VCDs, all of which are geared towards clarifying the truth to a deluded public. Because of this, great numbers of peaceful Falun Gong practitioners have been kidnapped, tortured, and even murdered by lawless police and state terrorists of the "610 Offices" under the manipulation of Jiang. In this way, Falun Gong practitioners have been completely deprived of their right to free expression, while other citizens have been deprived of their right to know the truth about Falun Gong.
Under these circumstances, Falun Gong practitioners' using TV networks in Mainland China to clarify the truth to the public is an act that upholds the principles of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance" and defends their constitutional rights to belief and expression; therefore, it is also an act that safeguards the Constitution. Such honourable and grand deeds will be forever remembered in Chinese history.
