The Change in a Former Forced Labour Camp Guard

On the eve of the Chinese New Year, a family got together for New Years Eve dinner in China. The son received a phone call from a friend in Italy to wish them a happy new year. The friend then asked to talk with the son's mother and asked her: "You were once arrested by the police. How has your health been since your release? Do you still practise Falun Gong?" She told him that she had been doing quite well, and was still practising Falun Gong. He asked: "Do they let you practice?" She said: "The government prohibits us from doing it." He said: "Why don't you come to Italy. Here everyone is free to practice. They do it all over the place." The whole family laughed.

I did not expect that this friend had changed so much. He was a guard in a forced labour camp where his father also worked. Both had 'dealt' with Falun Gong practitioners. A few years ago he quit his job and went abroad to make a living. In western society, he came in contact with Falun Gong practitioners and became truly aware of the facts about Falun Gong. He learned that all practitioners are good people and that what he had been told in China about the practice were pure fabrications. He learned that people are practising Falun Gong all over the world, and it is supported and praised everywhere.

Last year he also called around New Year's Day. He said that he went on the web quite often to find out news and information that is simply almost impossible and dangerous to get hold of in China. He would regularly read articles about Falun Gong and in turn his perception has changed a great deal. I asked him if he knew of the campaign of quitting the Chinese Communist Party. He said 'Yes' and that he had learned it from the web. I urged him to quit the Party. He said without hesitating: "Sure. Let's do it."

He learned truly from his heart what is right and wrong, quit the Chinese Communist Party, and has chosen a good future for himself. One can turn into a totally different person once one leaves China and goes abroad.
