On April 19th 2008, at the invitation of the Lions Club of Nokia City, a group of Falun Gong practitioners in Finland dressed in beautiful fairy costumes came in the early morning to Nokia adjacent to the third largest city Tampere to attend the New Noble Women Exhibition.
When the exhibition opened, there were many people attracted by the beautiful paper lotus flowers. They came to the Falun Gong booth one after another to learn to make the paper flowers and learn the story behind them
The lotus flower symbolises purity and tenacity in Chinese culture. After the CCP started to persecute Falun Gong, many practitioners were brutally persecuted because they did not give up their faith. Those lotus flowers that emerge unstained from the filth embody their firm faith, nobleness and purity
A young Falun Gong practitioner called Wang said to a mother and daughter, “In China, there are many children who have lost their parents and become orphans. There are also many children who have suffered such persecution, some of whom are babies of few months old.” Having learnt about this, the mother and daughter looked shocked and they signed the petition calling for stopping the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong.
These real and tragic stories made a lot of people stop at the booth to listen. They signed the petition against the persecution one after another.
Anna, a Finnish Falun Gong practitioner, said that many people asked her, “Why is such a good exercise being cruelly persecuted in China?” She answered, “Because Falun Gong teaches people to be good people with Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance and this can not be tolerated by the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP) that only believes in Falsehood, Evilness and Violence.
Falun Gong practitioners demonstrate the five Falun Gong exercises |
On that same day after the fashion show and dance performances, the Falun Gong practitioners were invited to demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises up on the stage. Three Falun Gong practitioners dressed in beautiful fairy costumes and another two Falun Gong practitioners dressed in the golden yellow uniform demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises respectively up on the stage. Sinikka, a Finnish Falun Gong practitioner, asked the viewers at the scene before her demonstration, who had learned about Falun Gong? There were only a couple of people said they had learned about Falun Gong before. But when she asked who knew about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, many people raised their hands. Afterwards when demonstrating the exercises, Sinikka explained to the viewers that Falun Gong was a traditional method of cultivation and told them what cultivation was about from the perspective of Europeans. She told them, “Falun Gong not only brings people good health but also enables people at the same time to find the origin of life and find our true selves.” She introduced to the viewers the five sets of Falun Gong exercises one by one. Finally, she told the people that such a good exercise that taught people to be good people and brought people both bodily and mentally good health was subjected to cruel persecution in China. She told people the truth about the persecution.
After the demonstration, there were more people came over to the booth and signed the petition calling for an end to the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong.
