On the evening of April 25th, 2008, Austrian Falun Gong practitioners staged a peaceful appeal at the Chinese Consulate in Vienna to commemorate the day when over 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners peacefully appealed at the central government compound, Zhongnanhai, in Beijing. They also protested against the Chinese Communist regime’s despicable atrocity of arresting and persecuting Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale in the name of hosting the Olympics. Austrian National Television Station and some other media also covered this activity.
On April 25th, 9 years ago, the arrest of innocent Falun Gong practitioners by Tianjin police triggered Falun Gong practitioners from various places across China to travel to Beijing to stage a peaceful petition. They tried to explain to the central government officials the fact that Falun Gong practitioners are people who cultivate themselves according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. They also asked the government for a legal and free cultivation environment. On the daym China’s then Premier Zhu Rongi handled the case and reached a reasonable resolution.
Out of jealousy, the then Chinese president Jiang Zemin stubbornly insisted on his own views and launched the cruel persecution against Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, which has shocked people inside and outside China.
Over the span of nearly nine years after the Chinese regime started to persecute Falun Gong, the regime’s has perpetrated various horrendous atrocities. Not only has it harvested organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit, but it has also recently arrested Falun Gong practitioners on a large scale in the name of hosting the Olympics.
The nine-year persecution hasn't stopped Falun Gong practitioners around the world, but instead as the fact s about the persecution have been exposed persistently, more and more people have joined the cultivation of Falun Gong in succession. The benefits of practising Falun Dafa have been spreading to kind-hearted people around the globe.
