One day I went to a fellow practitioner's home for business purposes. After I left I recalled how I could see his attachment of fear. I thought that he didn't have to be so attached to the fear because we are not only protected by everyday people's laws but also we are Dafa practitioners. Why can't we follow great Master Li Hongzhi's teachings so that we openly and righteously live our lives and reflect Dafa practitioners' gracious demeanor? Why do we put ourselves into the position of being persecuted? Isn't being persecuted a completely wrong position to be in?
By the time I was almost home I realized that I, too, had the attachment of fear. I had been concerned about some specific things on several occasions. Although the attachment was obvious, I still hadn't got rid of it and I was still affected by it to a certain degree.
I thought to myself: "When my attachments of fear and concern appear, the Buddhas, Taos, and Gods in the heavens might think about me in the same way I think about fellow practitioners when I see the attachment of fear them. They might be laughing at me: 'Look at this practitioner! He knows clearly that nobody, other than his Master, can move him. He knows clearly that his Master has been protecting him quietly as always, yet he still has the attachments of fear and concern. We don't know what to say about him.'"
I realized that there are different degrees of attachment to fear at different levels. Feeling fear is not your true self; fear is a notion formed after birth in this world. When the attachment of fear appears, we should instantly deny, repel, and reduce it. If we openly and righteously go and do whatever we should do, we will never be affected by the attachment of fear. Otherwise, can we believe that we are practitioners? "Cultivation depends on oneself, transformation of gong depends on the Master." If disciples righteous thoughts are strong enough, Master will help disciples by removing the bad substances of attachment to fear.
By looking inward, I found my shortcomings. I felt the joy of xinxing (moral character )improvement, and realized that a lot of substances and elements of fear had been reduced.
