Finland: Practitioners Commemorate April 25th Peaceful Appeal in Beijing

On the ninth anniversary of April 25th, Finnish Falun Gong practitioners held a commemoration activity outside the train station in the centre of the capital, Helsinki. They raised awareness among passersby of how during the last nine years, the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been inhumanly persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. They also protested against the CCP using of the Olympics to intensify the persecution of Falun Gong.

A Finnish Falun Gong practitioner called Sinikka used a loud speaker to explain the background to the April 25th appeal, and the subsequent brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners for these past nine years.

It is already spring in Helsinki, and many people come and go to the central railway station. Finnish people who live in this land and tourists from all over the world shuttle back and forth in this central railway station and they were all drawn to this activity. Many people stopped to read the banner reading “Strongly protesting against the CCP’s use of the Olympics to persecute Falun Gong”, and moreover carefully read the flyers that they received.

A Finnish Falun Gong practitioner called Sinikka used a loudspeaker to narrate the cause of April 25th, and to tell the people about the brutal persecution of the kind Falun Gong practitioners suffered during those nine years. She said “It’s not that we oppose the Olympics, we are protesting against the CCP’s use of the Olympics as an excuse to intensify its persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. A Chinese student abroad in Finland called Sanzi’s whose father was illegally put into a labour camp for one year at the beginning of last year, and her mother this year was also kidnapped; her present whereabouts is unknown. The CCP is using the excuse of the Olympics to arrest Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China, intensifying this brutal persecution.”

Sanzi said, “After the persecution started, my parents went to the government to appeal, soon after which they were held in custody, and on the television were non stop broadcasting of slander against the Falun Gong practitioners. After that my parents were sentenced and during these nine years our family has suffered this brutal persecution, during which there has not been one day of rest, not any safety to speak of. This persecution in itself is already very evil; however the CCP is using the Olympics as an excuse to arrest practitioners of Falun Gong on a large scale. My parents have been kidnapped again by the police due to this excuse, and this is unjustifiable.”

That day, many people came to understand the truth, and went to the petition signature table to sign their names against the persecution of Falun gong. Among these people was a student from Australia, as well as teachers, student photographers, IT workers, retired old people, as well as people who gave support last summer, parliament members, from Finland. Falun Gong practitioners expressed, that at this commemoration activity, more people signed their names.
