On May 31st, 2008, the Spanish 'Quitting the CCP Service Centre' and the Falun Gong Association held a rally in Madrid's Phoenix Square to condemn the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong and express support for the 37 million withdrawals from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Though it had been raining for quite a few days in Madrid, people were not influenced at all and in the popular Phoenix Square it was still bustling and noisy.
Soon after the rally was started, it was starting to rain from the black and cloudy skies, but the warm hearted townspeople, students and travelers from different countries were still signing to support Falun Gong and the Chinese people’s quitting from CCP in spite of the rain. For a while, there was a gale, which blew down the picture banner, but the pedestrians soon came and helped to rectify the banners. A middle aged man from Eastern Europe was helping to reinforce the banner enthusiastically, he said: “I lived under a communist regime for more than 30 years, “I quite understand the evil of the communist party, I support you guys. You will win finally.”
The people who signed were from different countries and races, there were Chinese people as well. The Chinese persons were quitting the CCP on the spot after learning the truth. A Chinese young guy said his grandfather was killed in the Cultural Revolution; his father was involved as well due to it. Many Chinese people took copies of the Nine Commentaries as well as vcds about Falun Gong.
