United Kingdom: Activities in London's Chinatown to Raise Awareness about the Persecution of Faun Gong in China

On July 19th, to mark nine years of persecution by the CCP, British Falun Gong practitioners went to London's Chinatown to let people know about the benefits they had received from practising Falun Gong. Meanwhile, practitioners exposed the CCP’s (Chinese Communist Party) persecution of Falun Gong, calling on local people to support an end to the persecution.

Right before the two lion statues in the centre of Chinatown, practitioners set up a Falun Gong stand. They unfolded a banner that read “Falun Dafa Is Good, and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Is Good”. Placed on the stand were leaflets in both Chinese and English, alongside a petition supporting an end to the persecution. Erected around the stand were plentiful display boards. The exhibited photos were about the world-wide popularity of Falun Gong and the brutal persecution inflicted on Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Next to the stand, some of the practitioners were demonstrating the five sets of Falun Gong exercises to peaceful music. The others were handing out leaflets to tourists from all parts of the world and encouraging them to sign a petition condemning the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Practitioners spoke to tourists from China about the persecution of Chinese Falun Gong practitioners, and urged them to quit the CCP and all its related organisations.

British Falun Gong practitioners have persistently handed out leaflets to tourists to Chinatown for a long time. As a result, overseas Chinese here are getting used to practitioners’ activities. But such a large scale display of Falun Gong facts still had a sharp impact on many Chinese. “Ah, Falun Gong!” viewers exclaimed continuously. Practitioners were happy to know that some of the passers-by would like to have a further understanding of Falun Gong. Some tourists directly walked toward the stand to ask for more leaflets. Many passers-by stopped to attentively watch the exercise demonstration.

On this very day, several groups of tourists from China paid a visit to Chinatown, London. Practitioners took advantage of this chance to hand out leaflets to the Chinese tourists. Though quite a few Chinese who had been poisoned by the CCP’s deceitful lies refused to accept the leaflets, a large number of Chinese took them. In particular, a whole group of teenagers from China took leaflets, so did their teacher who walked behind them.

Tourists to Chinatown in London came from all parts of the world and for many of them this was their first time to see and hear of Falun Gong. Facing the tourists who were rushing to their destination or not expressing much concern, Falun Gong practitioners kept appealing to their better nature, “Please have a better understanding of the facts of Falun Gong. Please help bring an end to the persecution. Peaceful Falun Gong practitioners in China are being persecuted to death by the CCP. The persecution has lasted for nine years. We should promptly end the persecution.” After listening to the sincere appeal, passers-by took the leaflets, and some of them then signed the petition. One elderly western lady took the leaflet and told the practitioner, “This information is indeed very important.”
