People in Mexico are Saying, "Falun Dafa Is Great!"

It has been five months since people in Mexico first learned about Falun Dafa. Practitioners have given several dozen introduction workshops in various locations, such as a hospital, martial arts centre, Chinese medicine clinic, Chinese cultural centre, senior citizens' centre, special education schools, conventions, expos and also in many public places, e.g. on top of the pyramids and in parks. The numbers of people who have learned the Falun Dafa exercises have reached more than a thousand in such a short time. It seems that people in Mexico have been waiting for Dafa for a long time.

I would like to share with everyone how people in Mexico found Falun Dafa to be really wonderful.

A 70-year-old psychotherapist has been practicing Falun Dafa for about 3 months. When I asked her if she could write about her experience with Falun Dafa, she wrote one full page of all the ailments she had been suffering from for a long time. I was very surprised to see the list. It ranged from high blood sugar to persistent coughing. She said, "All is well now. Falun Dafa is just wonderful and is so powerful." Now she does not want any other practice anymore. She is very happy with Falun Dafa. She really wants to be a practitioner. She comes to study the Fa with us on a regular basis and she also offered to help us to set up new practice sites, do Hongfa and take care of the paperwork that needs to be done.

There is a man in his fifties who had been practising eight different kinds of Qigong and martial arts for many years. One day he was in an internet café where he met four young men who were coming to study the Fa with us that night. They happened to talk to each other and they all decided to come to the reading.

We read Zhuan Falun first, and then we taught them to Fa Zheng Nian [Ed. Note: Maintaining a tranquil mind after reciting a Falun Gong verse once. The term "Fa Zheng Nian" cannot be translated accurately]. When we recited the verse in Chinese, he felt the immense power coming through it. When he put up his hand to Fa Zhen Nian, he felt that he was fighting and defending against some demonic force. When we were done, he told us that his life long pain in his right arm just disappeared. He was really shocked by that incident.

During the reading, he shared his experience in other cultivation ways and said how intriguing those were and so on, and we just let him talk. But after watching the video "Path to One's Original True Self" He said, "So what I had been practicing before are all low level Qigong!" We all laughed when we heard his comment. He understood.

He said he spent a long time talking to all his fellow practitioners of other qigong about Falun Dafa and he even talks to monks about Falun Dafa through the Internet. The other day he said to us, "Teacher Li wakes me up every night and has me read Zhuan Falun. I have been so short of sleep for days, but I feel fine." He continued, "I really want people in Mexico to learn about Falun Dafa as soon as possible." So, when he comes to the practice, he is so enthusiastic about teaching others the practice. In just one week, he learned the entire movements very accurately. He said he was going to go for 8 weeks of Bigu (fasting) in the mountains for purification. But one night, he was awakened and was lead to read Zhuan Falun. When he opened the book, he happened to open to the section about Bigu. After reading it, he understood and decided not going to Bigu anymore.

A 60 year-old psychologist learned Falun Dafa one year ago in the US, but when she came back to Mexico, she just practiced once in a while alone at home. When we first arrived in Mexico last year at around Thanksgiving time, I shared with her my understanding about why we have to read Zhuan Falun everyday as a cultivator. After hearing that, she said, "I see. Now I understand why I have to read. Thank you. I will read it everyday."

About a few weeks later, she sent me an email saying, "Oh, thank you so much for asking me to read. Since I started to read it everyday, I feel the difference. It is completely different from when I just did the practice. After reading and practicing, a miracle happened to me. One day, I got up and I felt I could hear well. So I took out the hearing aids and I found out that I could hear everything without it. It's a miracle! Falun Dafa really works!"

Now, we have about 7 practice sites. New practitioners also help us to teach. When we practice in the park, we hang up yellow Falun Dafa banners and people walking by just join us right away. Each time we practice outdoors, we always have many new people learning the practice.

We also have weekly Fa study. In fact, we read almost every night. We tell people that they can come around 8 pm to our place to just join us for the reading. On Sundays, we basically set that day for all day intensive Fa study. The result of this intensive reading has been good.

During one intensive study, we read "Falun Dafa Explication" One young man came to read it for the first time. During the reading, he showed great comprehension of the Fa. We were all impressed by his understanding. Two weeks later, I asked him if he was ready to stop practicing other Qigong. He said, "I stopped that Qigong after reading that lecture 2 weeks ago" So, I felt this person has a good inborn quality. He also said, "After watching the VCD on persecution against Falun Gong in China, I could not sleep all night. What are you doing about it?" I told him that I need his help to let people know about the truth, since I do not speak Spanish. He said, "I will contact some religious leaders I know and see what we can do about it."

Another person who joined the intensive reading found out that in genuine cultivation of Falun Dafa one has to really study the Fa well. And Teacher talks about this issue with great emphasis in "Falun Dafa Explication" [Ed Note: available for free download at www.falundafa.org. We suggest you read either Falun Gong or Zhuan Falun first]. After reading this, she said, "As soon as I get home, I am going to read Zhuan Falun. I can't miss out on this anymore now that I know how great it is to read Zhuan Falun." I was really happy with her response.

There are many good people in Mexico.
They all want to help with the situation in China.
