Stuttgart Zeitung Newspaper (Germany): For the Freedom of Belief

On August 2nd, some two hundred Falun Gong practitioners from Germany and other European countries, along with The German International Human Rights Association held an open-air information day in Stuttgart to protest against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. A German paper, Stuttgart Zeitung, covered the event with an article on the 4th of August entitled For the Freedom of Belief.

According to the article, Falun Gong practitioners can be found all over the world. Originated in China, Falun Gong is a cultivation method that benefits mind and body but is being persecuted. On Saturday, right before the Olympics, two hundred practitioners held a protest.

The article continued, whoever went to the Castle Square at 10 am on Saturday would have heard unusual music. Sixty band members in blue and white uniform played Chinese tunes in formation. The band was made up of Falun Gong practitioners. It was a group of cultivators, a peaceful activity. But in China, Falun Gong practitioners are persecuted. The band and another one hundred and forty protesters hoped to attract attention to the persecution with this event.

According to protesters, in the run-up to the Olympics, the CCP intensified its suppression. Thousands of Falun Gong practitioners were detained last month. Stuttgart Walther Krickl started practising Falun Gong more than a decade ago. He campaigns for the persecuted practitioners in China. Protesters alleged a new method of persecution: in China, organs of political prisoners are secretly but systematically harvested for transplants. Support of the allegation came from Canada, where two politicians investigated whether the allegation held water. In the report, they pointed out that evidence indicate that the crime does exist.
