Previously, if while clarifying the truth no one wanted to listen or did not believe what I had to say or turned their backs, I thought there was not much I could do. I left with some regret or frustration toward the person. Master's lectures have helped me get rid of my incorrect attitudes. Now I no longer have bad feelings toward those who are ignorant and refuse to listen. I have compassion for them as they would have to face danger during the grand elimination. Even though I know I won't be successful in helping them to know the truth this time, I will not leave them and let them walk away immediately; instead, I'll try to make use of every opportunity to offer people salvation.
I calmed down and studied "Fa Teaching at the 2008 New York Conference" several times. Especially after I it read out loud twice, measuring myself against Master's tireless teachings, I felt deeply ashamed for my shallow understanding of the Fa and poor cultivation status. I also felt a profound urgency to offer people salvation and the seriousness of my responsibilities.
Master's lectures have helped me become more aware of my incorrect notions. As Master teaches, today's people all came for the Fa, though some got profoundly lost or may not even be worth saving. But as along as the moment of the Fa rectifying the human world is not yet here, they still have chances, because Master does not count any mistake the beings had made in the past, but only considers one's attitude toward Dafa. If we get used to clarifying the truth selectively, then aren't we helplessly looking at these "unselected" beings who face the danger of elimination? Then how do we manifest the harmony and compassion of Dafa and the attitudes practitioners are supposed to have? Moreover, getting happy when something goes smoothly and upset when faced with difficulty, aren't these human notions we should let go of? If we cannot even let go of such obvious faults, then how can we cultivate, improve and even reach consummation?
To validate Dafa and save people are also opportunities for us to cultivate and improve ourselves. Why do we sometimes have difficulties when we try very hard to clarify the truth to people? When I calmed down and looked within, I found sometimes it is because we have a mindset such as "I'm coming to offer you salvation," but have ignored our own cultivation. We expected people to accept whatever we are saying, despite whether or not others understand, and assumed it to be automatic that others should appreciate us. If others do not want to listen, do not understand or temporarily cannot accept, then I, at least, regard them as "ungrateful." From studying the Fa, I understand that if we let a formed notion degenerate without exerting our control, then it is easy for us to become complacent and even arrogant. This will make the listener react negatively.
Master said,
"But in your case, as you validate the Fa and save people, you are a cultivator still, and cultivators have human attachments or else they would be gods. And could a god do cultivation? Gods cannot cultivate. Only those with human bodies can cultivate, and only that can be called cultivation." ("Fa Teaching at the 2008 New York Conference")
Master's teachings are like navigation markers for one who gets lost along the path. They helped me understand the Fa principle that reminds us as we are validating the Fa and saving beings, and we are cultivating ourselves at the same time. In other words, validating the Fa and saving beings are not only part of our cultivation way, but also a means and opportunity for us to improve! At the last stage of the Fa rectification, only by melting our individual cultivation into the validating the Fa and saving the sentient beings, can we truly improve and reach consummation.
We need to solidly cultivate ourselves, try our best to save as many people as we can, and try to send the message of the truth and compassion into people's ears and hearts, and lay a foundation for them to be saved at the next opportunity this person may have.
We should try to make use of any opportunities, spread important messages including "Falun Dafa is good," "Withdraw from the CCP to safeguard yourself" in clear and brief words, and try our best to tell them more. Experience has taught us that for those who need to hear or see truth clarification more than once, it is possible that we usually have a moment to say a few more words to them. As long as we can manage the timing according to people's mindset, we can clarify as much as possible. Many people silently accept what we have to tell them and listen to us. The key is our mindset, whether we are still willing to repeat pertinent information and try again to save them or to lay a foundation for other practitioners to clarify the truth to them in the future.
