Several practitioners around me have their own businesses. I believe that their work in their businesses has more or less interfered with their cultivation.
One practitioner is a teacher. Her husband (a non-practitioner) opened a factory. In recent years, their business has done very well. Last year, they built a new factory building and expanded the business. She was so busy she didn't have time to study the Fa or do the exercises, not to mention sharing cultivation experiences. She does all three things, but does them in a rush. Whenever she meets another practitioner, she will say that her booming business is because of her cultivating Dafa.
Another practitioner is in the food business. She says that she can sell four hundred to five hundred yuan worth of food a day. She spends the days preparing the food she goes out to sell at 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. every day. She wraps up after 10 p.m. Another practitioner sells shoes and is doing well also. She conducts business from morning to 8 p.m. and squeezes time for Fa-study and the "three things." One night, she dreamed that her sold shoes piled up to the size of a big mountain.
The old forces manipulate the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to persecute Dafa. We have seen many practitioners illegally confined to forced labor camps and prisons. Imprisonment is easy to recognize as persecution. But the old forces have only one purpose: enlarge your attachments, drag you down, and prevent you from succeeding in cultivation. Fellow practitioners, please think about it. If your business is doing so well to the point that you don't have time for Fa-study and exercises, think about it: Isn't this another type of old force persecution? But this type of persecution is more discreet and hard to detect. Your attachment to financial gain is made ever larger, interfering with your cultivation.
Normally, doing business is a must to make a living and validate the Fa. It can also offer an environment to talk to others about the practice and the persecution. However, as practitioners, did we come to the human world to make money? We have come here to help Master rectify the Fa and cultivate ourselves. If doing business interferes with our cultivation and the "three things," I believe we need to look within and reposition ourselves, allowing our businesses to create more favorable conditions for cultivation. We must not put the cart before the horse.
