Large Leshan Buddha Statue in Sichuan Province Shows the Rarely Seen "Mysterious Light Ring"--the Buddha Light

At 9:43am on May 6 2002, after a day of heavy rain, a colourful ring of light appeared in the cloudy sky above the Leshan Buddha Statue. The ring had a diameter of approximately 300 meters with an interior red ring and an exterior purple ring. The colour of the ring was sometimes clear and sometimes blurred, and circled the Buddha statue emitting multicoloured beams.

At 11 o'clock, the ring started to give off dazzling light. The magnificent sight was witnessed by the impressed tourists who had come from all over the world The phenomenon prompted many people to press both hands together and close their eyes in prayer. Around noon the Buddha light disappeared. The scene lasted for more than three hours.

The people of today's modern society often claim, "I will only believe in what I can see." This miraculous scene, that was witnessed by people, will surely remind them of this common saying.

Now might they believe in the existence of Buddhas and in their magnificence?
