During the rally, Chinese and western practitioners formed a "Wall of Truth" using banners in order to let the public know the truth about the persecution. Many passersby stopped to read the banners and learn more about the event.
A local resident said that he had been closely monitoring the persecution and asked if any progress had been made in terms of ending the organ harvesting atrocities. After expressing his support for Falun Gong, another person said that the recent tainted milk scandal gave him a better picture of the evil nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and he was worried about tainted food imported form China.
In the evening, the practitioners held a candlelight vigil to commemorate fellow practitioners who have died during the persecution. Since the persecution started in July 1999, the Chinese Communist regime has used many physical and mental torture methods in order to force practitioners to give up their belief in Falun Gong. In the past 9 years, more than 3000 practitioners have died from torture and tens of thousands families have been torn apart.
