On 20th December 2008, in the winter rain and cold wind, a group of Falun Gong practitioners from Helsinki held an activity beside Helsinki city centre train station. They displayed banners reading ‘Disintegrate the CCP, Stop the Persecution’ and ‘Support 47 Million Quitting the CCP’ to protest against the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) nine years of brutal persecution against Falun Gong practitioners and show their support for the over 47 million Chinese people who have stepped forward and quit their membership of the CCP and its affiliated organisations.
The practitioners talked to local people about the human rights atrocities that the regime in China has committed against Falun Gong practitioners including torture, the harvesting of organs from living practitioners, and the deaths of over 3000 innocent practitioners. Although it was cold and raining on the day, many people stopped to listen, took flyers, and signed a petition to show their support. People praised the practitioners and told them that it's important to raise awareness about the plight of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

A young man called Ali from Pakistan said that Pakistan has a close relationship with the CCP. He thanked the practitioners for letting him know about Falun Gong and the human rights abuses in China. He told the practitioners that what they are doing is important and wished them well.
One Finnish man took flyers for himself and several of his Chinese friends. One old lady was very pleased to hear that 47 million people have quit the CCP. She said that there are no human rights under the CCP.
Finnish practitioner Sinikka said, "A man came and read our petition forms. He asked how he could help us. I told him that we are telling the whole world about the CCP’s atrocities and every kind heart is opposing them, so the more people that know about these atrocities the better. He signed his name on the petition and wished us a good Christmas. ’
