My work is translating written foreign language. Once when translating a product manual of several hundred words I made two obvious mistakes. A customer pointed them out, and I was very ashamed. When looking within, I found for a long time I had not been serious with my everyday work. I just hoped to finish as soon as possible so that I could have more time to do the three things. Instead of trying to improve quality, I just wanted to do things quicker.
Later on I had another assignment. It was a more than 6,000-word user manual for a cell phone with various functions. It had many technical terms from the communications field. I learned the lesson from last time. Instead of hurrying to finish, I balanced time well for everyday work and doing the three things. The words in question I looked up in the dictionary one by one, as well as searching on the Internet to double-check. I finished the assignment on time. Because of the numerous technical terms, I thought the customer would request some revision. To my surprise, after presenting it to the foreign business partner, it was approved after first review.
These two incidents reminded me that doing everyday work is also part of cultivation. In this process I found many attachments, such as agitation and impatience or muddling through the assignment as soon possible. Doing well in everyday work is also our responsibility. Our performance will influence people's impression toward Dafa. If we are unable to create a good image with everyday people, how can we lay a good foundation for truth-clarification, or encouraging people to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations?
These are my personal understandings. Please kindly point out anything inappropriate.
