United States: Falun Gong Stands Out in St. Patrick's Day Parades in New Jersey

On March 14th and 15th, 2009, many cities and townships in New Jersey featured St. Patrick's Day parades. Among them, the parades in Morristown and Somerville were the largest. Falun Dafa of New Jersey participated in both parades as the only Asian group. Their entry promoted peace and beauty. The spectators cheered and waved to the Falun Gong contingent along the route.

On the day of parade in Morristown, everyone wore green to celebrate the day. Many local officials attended the parade in person, including Congressman Mr. Rodney Frelinghuesen, Mayor of Bridgewater City Patricia Flannery, Mayor of Hillsborough Mr. Frank DelCore, and Mayor of Bernardsville Mr. Lee C. Honecker. About 20,000 people watched the parade that had over one hundred entries.

This was the fourth time that Falun Dafa of New Jersey participated in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Somerville. The Falun Dafa group is composed of a celestial maiden dance team and an exercise demonstration team. Spectators applauded and cheered them along the route.
