Not Be Misled by Worldly Pursuits and Miss the Precious Chance to Reach Divinity

Fa rectification is in its last phase. The tests that precede consummation may have already started. It's time to choose between being a "buddha" and being a "human." If you are not diligent in your practice, how do you plan to deal with this issue? It is a rare opportunity to have access to the truth. We have gone through many re-incarnations to have this opportunity. However, the human world tends to generate illusions that mislead us and cause us to forget that we are practitioners. Can we imagine what will happen to us if we miss this opportunity? How will we face Master? I am not a diligent practitioner, but I have received reminders time and again from Master. In what follows, I present two events for practitioners to consider.

Practitioner A

One practitioner liked to clean her house often. She spent so much time cleaning that she did little Fa study. One day she found that she had bone cancer which was very painful. Realizing that she was a practitioner, she invited fellow practitioners to her house to study the Fa and to send forth righteous thoughts together. Miraculously, her illness went away. When she felt better, she stopped inviting fellow practitioners to her house, and resumed her house cleaning activities.

Fellow practitioners told her that it was important to do the three things (the Fa [the teachings of Falun Dafa], send forth righteous thoughts and clarify the truth about Falun Dafa and about the persecution to the world's people.) and asked her to tell people about the miracle she had experienced, but she didn't follow their advice. After a while her illness returned. She again invited practitioners to her house to study the Fa. When her illness seemed to disappear, she again reverted to her former behaviour. She went through such cycles several times.

One day she reached the end of her earthly life and appeared to have awakened. Her family heard her shouting, " I don't want to follow you. I want to follow Master." However, it was too late. She passed away.

Practitioner B

Another practitioner was a classmate of mine in college. She began practicing Falun Gong in 2004. After graduation, she returned home to a place where there were no other practitioners. Her parents were against her practice, but she insisted on continuing. Last year she got a job. She was so busy every day that she stopped practicing Falun Gong. Her workload was so excessive that it was clear to me that evil forces were interfering with her. However, she did not see it that way.

One day she had a dream. She saw that there were two groups of Dafa practitioners: the first group belonged to the Fa rectification period and the second group belonged to the Fa rectifying the human world period. She wanted to join the second group, but Master pointed to her and said, "You go to the first group." After she woke up, she felt ashamed of herself, but she did not give up her work in the human society.

I felt really bad for my classmate. I recalled what Master said in "Fa-teaching given to Australian practitioners." He was sad to see those of us who were lost in the human world. I understood the deeper meaning of the statement Master made in "Eliminate Your Last Attachments" in Essentials for Further Advancement II, "I know all of the suffering of my disciples. The truth is, I treasure you more than you treasure yourselves!"

Lives in this universe have witnessed the infinite grace of Master. However, some of us have failed to treasure ourselves and are source of grief to Master. I sincerely hope that those few practitioners will wake up and start to treasure themselves so that they will not miss this extremely rare opportunity to become enlightened.
