Mr. Fu Hong is an acclaimed Chinese painter. This was his second experience with Shen Yun. On April 4th, he and his family drove from Melbourne to see the show. Fu said, "The show inherited the real traditional Chinese arts. The choreography and use of colours are very good. Classical Chinese dance is very elegant and is different from Ballet. A show of this kind is rarely seen overseas."
Piano Tuner: Enjoyed Chinese Culture
Mr. Cao Quanen was deeply moved by Shen Yun. He said, "I lived in China for the first half of my life and I never saw true Chinese culture there, the divine-imparted culture. In China, communist party culture has permeated the whole society and brainwashed people. We are so fortunate to see this wonderful show presented by Shen Yun. I truly believe that it is divine beings' compassion which gives us this opportunity to enjoy Chinese culture and this touched my soul."
Over 20 years ago, Mr. Cao founded a guitar school in China. After immigrating to Australia, he has been working as a professional piano tuner.
Mr. Cao commented that Shen Yun's music was unique and very creative, as it used both Chinese and Western instruments in such a beautiful way. "Though they are from two different music system, it was very harmonious and natural... Chinese instruments are often used in solo performance... However, they are typically short of three-dimensional depth. Western instruments can strengthen this part..."
Mr. Cao's favourite performances of the evening were Dance of the Snow-capped Mountain and the dance drama about the persecution of Falun Gong, Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution. Cao said that the latter portrayed a fact and was very moving: "Falun Gong practitioners are innocent and they are good people. However, the Chinese Communist Party has been brutally persecuting them and consequently so many have been killed. It is not right, and the persecution is completely the opposite of the communist regime's propaganda about building a harmonious society."
