Being Truly Benevolent and Saving More People

During the few years when I was illegally imprisoned, I never gave up my responsibility of saving people. I know Teacher has always been taking care of me and testing me. When I returned home last year, I noticed that my wife looked much older, and my children had grown taller. I felt very sorry, but my wife said, "Don't feel sorry. Compared to rectifying the Fa and saving more people, this little hardship is nothing."

When the police ransacked our home, for example, my wife held a copy of Zhuan Falun to her chest, and with no fear, she reasoned unyieldingly with the police. I, on the other hand, because I felt my wife had been working too hard and I had not done my part in raising our son, spent all my time at home and in the factory making more money. I tried to compensate for what I had failed to do in the past few years, and only cultivated when I had time and downloaded information from the web off and on. I left my wife much work to do.

It was only after I had read Teacher's article "Fa Teaching at the 2009 Washington DC International Fa Conference" that I realized the seriousness of the matter. All practitioners have the responsibility of saving sentient beings. I happen to be one of those who were not diligent in cultivation that Teacher referred to. Hardships are supposed to enhance a practitioner's cultivation, but I relaxed myself at the critical moment. It was me who didn't remember well what Teacher had said. My degree of cultivating inward has been insufficient, and I have not fully done my part to save sentient beings.

Not much time is left for the Fa-rectification. Teacher is worried for us because the people we were allotted to save have not yet been saved. How sad it will be if they are weeded out when the Fa-rectification period ends. We need to act according to truthfulness and compassion and save sentient beings, and uphold our vows. If we can squeeze a bit more time, print one more copy of Dafa material, or tell people a few more principles, perhaps one more person will be inspired. How wonderful it will be if even one more person is saved.
