Ms. Milenkovich, a lawyer, and Ms. Soultanian, a Serbian language professor, were in the audience at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva and were thoroughly impressed after seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts for the first time.
The performance depicts stories from China's 5,000-year history, past to present, through song, dance and music, and was much appreciated by Ms. Milenkovich. "Oh, it was really wonderful, amazing. I really liked it!" she exclaimed.
Her friend, Ms. Soultanian, said she wanted to see the show all over again.
Both were amazed by the energy, expressiveness and beauty exuding from the dancers, musicians and singers. "The beauty of the dance is really wonderful. The music, the singers, and, of course, the dancing. The expressiveness – how feelings are expressed through dance. I am very sensitive to that," Ms. Milenkovich said. "And to the energy, such energy."
Ms. Soultanian added that she loved the way the show was put together. "The modern and the ancient. I like it that you have a 5,000-year-old country, and there is also this modern aspect. It is a marriage of the two. I think it is a big and important nation. I like it very much. The impression is very strong, very powerful."
Ms. Soultanian wished to share Shen Yun with others, "I would like to show my husband this gorgeous spectacular."
