Melting Ourselves Into the Fa
By a Falun Dafa practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) A few days ago, I heard my mother, who is also a practitioner, reading Master's new lecture "Fa Teaching Given in Manhattan." One paragraph hit me. Master said, "But, since you still need to remain among ordinary people until your cultivation meets with Consummation, you have to reach a state in which you have such things but have no heart for them, in which you can do such things but without attachment." In the last few days, I haven't been very diligent in doing the three things (clarifying the turth about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, sending forth righteous thoughts and studying the Fa). Although I have been reading the Fa every day persistently, I have slacked off in sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth to people.

After hearing this sentence from the Fa, I was suddenly enlightened. I realized that my mind was still focused on everyday people's things instead of on the Fa. I seemed to be reading the Fa every day, yet I didn't read it with the goal of improving myself in the Fa. Instead, deep in my mind, I was trying to finish a task. Recently I had been paying a lot of attention to real estate listings and job postings. In my mind, I was trying to figure out how to live a better life. As such, I failed to "reach a state in which you have such things but have no heart for them," as Master taught. I calculated many things in my work, and failed to achieve the state "in which you can do such things but without attachment."

Cultivation in Dafa is very serious. Master already told us clearly in the Fa that, "each Dafa disciple's life has been tightly wed to, like links in a chain, his cultivation." ("Fa Teaching at the 2009 Greater New York International Fa Conference") In the limited time left for cultivation, I will be more strict with myself, do well the three things as Master required, and to live up to Master's expectation.
