3000 Icelanders Take to the Streets to Support Falun Gong during Jiang's visit (photos)

On June 14, Jiang Zemin visited Iceland. In Reykjavik, the capital city with a limited population, nearly 3000 people held a large-scale demonstration to protest against the Chinese President who violates Falun Gong practitioners’ human rights. The protestors held Falun Gong banners to show their disapproval of the Icelandic government, who went against the will of its people to unfairly treat Falun Gong practitioners. They also covered their mouths with black gags to symbolise the suppression of the voice of freedom and justice in Iceland.

Over the past few days, the Iceland media, including radio stations, TV stations and newspapers, have all reported what Falun Gong is about and the brutal persecution that is going on in China. Now almost all of the Icelandic people know Falun Gong; almost everyone in Iceland knows Jiang Zemin’s inhuman persecution.

Due to the national outcry provoked by the actions of the Icelandic government, Jiang Zemin found it impossible to dodge the protests of the Icelandic citizens. He scurried from place to place in an attempt to prevent seeing any Falun Gong practitioners and was treated with contempt by the Icelandic people who warmly supported and kindly treated the practitioners. The Icelanders enthusiastically learned the Falun Gong exercises from the practitioners.

Jiang Zemin experienced for the first time in Iceland the opposition to his dictatorship from people all over the world. Because of the large-scale demonstration, Jiang left Iceland one day ahead of his schedule.
