Chen Yunlin, chairman of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits, visited Taiwan from Mainland China on December 21st. At Chingchuankang Airport, he encountered Falun Gong practitioners peacefully protesting the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Practitioners displayed a banner reading, "Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong."

Practitioners stood along the route from the airport to the hotel where Chen and the Chinese delegation were staying, holding banners reading, "Bring the murderers to justice," "Stop persecuting Falun Gong," "Falun Dafa is good," and, "The world needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." At the airport, the banners spanned a length of 200 metres.

Chang Chinghsi, chair of the Taiwanese Falun Dafa Association, said that since Chen is an official representative of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), practitioners want to tell him that the CCP must take responsibility for the 10-year-long persecution. One practitioner said, "We want Chen to know that Falun Gong is freely practised in Taiwan and that the CCP should not persecute it in China."

Mr. Cai Kuoben, a Falun Gong practitioner, said, "I have benefited a lot from practising Falun Gong, both spiritually and physically. Falun Gong has spread all over the world, but has been persecuted in China. Recently, several witnesses have confirmed the CCP's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. I am here today to let the CCP officials know that a lot of people practise Falun Gong in Taiwan. I want to tell them to stop the persecution."

An assistant to a legislative member saw the peaceful protest and wanted to know more about the persecution. After practitioners clarified the truth to him, he said, "Falun Gong practitioners' actions are peaceful and we should respect their appeal. People should have freedom of belief everywhere in the world. It is the most basic human right."
