An Elderly Practitioner's Day of Truth Clarification

An elderly, fellow Dafa practitioner told me a story about his truth clarification efforts a few days ago.

This elderly practitioner went out to do his morning exercises, send forth righteous thoughts, and study the Fa as usual that day. After breakfast, he decided to go out to help rescue a female practitioner who had been detained some time earlier. He brought his senior's bus pass and some truth clarification materials with him. He knew that the female fellow practitioner's father had not been willing to listen to the truth and still had foolish thoughts because he was scared of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Many other people there had also been deceived by the CCP's lies. Therefore, the elderly practitioner planned to clarify the truth to the detained practitioner's father, and to go with her family members to request her release.

When he got on the bus, the driver told him to pay for the ticket. The elderly practitioner smiled and told the driver, "I have a senior's bus pass." The driver smiled at him and asked, "Are you over 70 years old?" The practitioner replied, "I am almost 90 years old." Then, all the passengers turned around to look at him. The practitioner told everyone that he practiced Falun Gong, and they were intrigued. The practitioner told them that before he practiced Falun Gong, he had all sorts of sicknesses and often stayed in bed. Now, his sicknesses are all gone and he has been healthy since practicing Falun Gong. He also told them that Falun Dafa's Master asked every practitioner to be a good person and that his body was becoming better and better.

As the elderly practitioner spoke, one passenger asked, "Doesn't the government forbid practicing Falun Gong?" The elderly practitioner replied, "Well, if such a good qigong is not allowed, will being a good person and doing good things also be forbidden?" Another passenger commented, "I don't understand why the government doesn't allow you to practice. If it is good, just do it." The elderly practitioner smiled for the people who understood.

When the elderly practitioner arrived at the home of the female practitioner's father, he rang the doorbell but no one came to the door. It seemed that there was no one at home. He thought he should not waste his trip, so he went to the detained practitioner's home. There was no one there either, so he decided to clarify the truth to the practitioner's neighbours. He went downstairs and saw a middle-aged woman sitting on a stone chair. He went over and asked, "Not long ago, there was a female Falun Gong practitioner here who was detained by police ..." The woman said she knew about it. The elderly practitioner said, "The police arrested such a good person and took away personal items from her home." The woman was surprised and told him not to talk so loudly. The elderly practitioner told her not to be afraid and that a good person is not afraid of bad guys.

As he was leaving, he noticed the Community Committee office. He went in to clarify the truth to the people there. He chatted with the person in charge. He told the person that Falun Gong teaches people to be good and that it is beneficial to society. The person in charge seemed to understand. When the elderly practitioner left the office, he left some truth clarification materials in their newspaper and letter box.

He saw a police station on the opposite side of the street after he left the Community Committee office and went there to clarify the truth to the police officers. A policeman greeted him. The elderly practitioner asked if they knew of his good friend who had been arrested by the police. The policeman told him anyone arrested would be recorded in the police station's records. He checked but could not find any record of her arrest. The policeman asked if he might have remembered incorrectly because there was no record. He asked what the reason was for his friend's arrest. The elderly practitioner told him that she was a Falun Gong practitioner and that she had been arrested by the police. He went on to say that practicing Falun Gong was for becoming a good person, but that a good person had been arrested. He asked, "Who can comprehend such laws?" The policeman was at a loss for words.

After leaving the police station, the elderly practitioner went to the company the detained practitioner worked for. He clarified the truth to one person there. He asked the person, "Did anyone ask why the police arrested her?" The person replied that no one dared to ask and they would not know what to do if they asked and got arrested also. How evil the CCP is. An ordinary citizen does not even have basic human rights.

The elderly practitioner then returned to look for the detained practitioner's father, but her father was still not there. The elderly practitioner waited for him at the village gate. Finally her father showed up after two hours. Her father did not want the elderly practitioner's help. Furthermore, he said that his daughter's arrest had nothing to do with him and that he should mind his own business. The father said that his wife and daughter often clarified the truth outside, which was not allowed by the government, so it was only natural that they would be arrested.

The elderly practitioner asked the father, "How could you be so foolish? They are wrongly detained, how could you blame your family members? The CCP's suppression of Falun Gong is itself illegal, yet the CCP does not allow people to speak out. What kind of law is that? Your family members go out to stand up for their belief. Isn't it right to defend their rights? Doesn't the law stipulate that citizens have the freedom to believe and to speak?" However, the elderly practitioner's advice did not awaken the father. Seeing the foolish father, the elderly practitioner felt how heavy the burden was on his shoulders.

It was afternoon when the elderly practitioner left the village to go home. He took a taxi and clarified the truth to the taxi driver. The driver understood and happily agreed to quit the CCP's organizations.

When the elderly practitioner got home, it was after 5:00 p.m. His wife had been waiting for him for a long time. Although he was tired, he'd had a rewarding visit. For the elderly practitioner, it was just an ordinary day.

I was lucky enough to go with the elderly practitioner to clarify the truth to a judge in a local court once. He talked about how he was almost 80 years old when he first went to Beijing to appeal, yet in spite of his age, he was still arrested and fined 5,000 yuan. He had tears in his eyes when telling how Dafa's Master had given him and his wife a second chance at life. The judge was moved and nodded his head.

On the road to validate the Fa, the elderly practitioner deeply felt that time will not wait for anyone. There are still many sentient beings that need to be saved, and the burden of saving people is still heavy. What the elderly practitioner wants is to fulfil his prehistoric promise, and to deserve the title of being a Fa-rectification period Falun Dafa practitioner.
