Chen Guang and Yan Hongen Sentenced by Huantai County Court

Ms. Chen Guang is a 47-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Zhangdian District in Zibo City. She had suffered from uraemia before she started practising Falun Gong. However, the uraemia was cured just after several month's practice. Ms. Chen regained physical and spiritual health.

In May 2009, two Falun Gong practitioners from Huantai County were arrested by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities while distributing Falun Gong distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. One of them gave out Ms. Chen's name under cruel interrogation. After 5:00 p.m. on May 12th, 2009, personnel from the Huantai County 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Zibo City arrested Ms. Chen in her home and also confiscated personal property including 60,000 yuan1, her car, a bank deposit book, and many other personal belongings. The total loss was about 300,000 yuan.

Then, in April 2010, after about one year's detention and persecution, the Huantai County Court gave Ms. Chen a seven-year prison sentence.

Mr. Yan Hongen, a 51-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Zibo City, previously worked in the Qisai Computer City in Zhangdian District.

On May 25th, 2009, Mr. Yan was arrested from his workplace by the 610 Office police without any evidence against him. He was sentenced to three years of imprisonment after being detained for almost one year.
