A few days ago, a practitioner was posting truth clarification materials along the street when a policeman followed and arrested him.
When the officer started to question him, he immediately thought: "Why are you questioning me? It should be me questioning you!" The practitioner positioned himself to direct the conversation and asked the policeman, "Haven't you changed your ways yet? Or are you still doing evil deeds?" The officer smiled and replied, "I'm just here to carry out my duties." The practitioner continued, "Others would say you put on a friendly face even as you are plotting to do something evil." The officer became more and more evasive as he tried to defend himself.
To trick the practitioner into agreeing with the guarantee statement, the policeman said to him, "You've done really poorly this time. Your teacher has abandoned you." As the officer spoke, he was unknowingly revealing his own indecency. The practitioner responded, "What you say doesn't count. It's what Teacher says that matters."
The officer continued to question the practitioner, "Where are your children working? How many are there in your household? And what are their names?" The practitioner responded, "There are over one hundred million in our household, and they are called practitioners of Dafa."
While this conversation was taking place, another practitioner finished posting his share of the materials. When he tried to contact the practitioner being questioned by the police and learned that he had been arrested, he immediately called and notified other practitioners he knew. Everyone gathered together to send forth righteous thoughts that night. They believed that the arrested practitioner would maintain his righteous thoughts and they planned to seek his safe return the following day.
That night as the arrested practitioner sent forth righteous thoughts, he could feel an enormous field of energy surrounding him. He knew that his fellow practitioners had found out about his arrest and were using their righteous thoughts to support him. As a result, at around 5:00 a.m. that morning, the practitioner was released and safely returned home.
The combination of everyone's strong righteous thoughts, along with their feelings of responsibility toward the Fa, toward the entire one body of practitioners, and toward their fellow practitioners, plus their selfless cooperation, disintegrated the evil completely.
The persecution itself isn't something to be frightened of. The real danger comes from lacking righteous thoughts in the face of persecution. When the practitioners were face to face with the evil, they showed no signs of fear. They chose to follow Teacher's requirements and dissolved the evil with the power of righteous thoughts. This is what Dafa practitioners are supposed to do; this is Dafa practitioners' mighty virtue.
I have noticed from recent interactions with fellow practitioners that many of us have more or less developed some sense of complacency. Some practitioners still carry human passion, jealousy, and a competitive nature. These attachments manifest themselves when we're out to prove or defend ourselves. From observing other practitioners, I have discovered that these unworthy characteristics exist within me as well, and they will only aid in fueling the evil persecution. As cultivators we understand that once a person becomes ill, his body will carry a negative field and attract all sorts of bad entities.
When a problem arises as we are clarifying the truth, that problem isn't related to just a single individual. Each and everyone of us who encounters the problem must search within ourselves for any shortcomings. We should correct ourselves and cleanse our practitioner body as a whole and be responsible to the Fa.
Do not become complacent when the persecution fails or falls short of its goals. When practitioners coordinate as one body to save sentient beings, we must also think of how to apply our righteous thoughts to what we are doing and the situations we encounter.
This is based on my personal understanding. Please kindly point out any of my shortcomings.
